Hello Kimberely, Thanks for your response, I appreciate it, I am glad you wrote, I should have said in my post anyone from around Macon wanna talk, cos there are not many people who actually live here that are members I guess. Anyway, I am glad that you answered me. Thank you. Yes, I have been reading the boards for sometime now since my surgery is getting closer and closer, I have been waiting for nearly 10 years as I could not afford it, it took me having to get really sick to be able to put things into motion. I worked at my job for nearly 10 years and I was never offered insurance. I was laid off in 2003 due to my poor health. I finally got my SS in 2005 after a 3 year fight and I will be reviewed again in 2007 to see if I am still eligible to get it. I told the judge when I went to court about my SS in 2004 that I did not want to be on it forever that I just wanted to have my surgery and get my life back and then I would gladly come off of it, and that is still true to this day. I am now homebound and cannot get out unless I have a doc appt. I am hoping to at least have my surgery before the new year, and plan to make a video diary of myself loosing wt so when I do get to my normal size, I can watch the tape and see myself loosing wt. That is what I am striving for now. I hope to hear from you and other again......see ya soon........Renee

Although I hate that you are unable to work, I am happy that you will be able to get the surgery. It is a complete life change, FOR THE BETTER! Dr. Hobson did my surgery and I couldn't be happier. I am so thankful that I was able to get the surgery. Our insurance covered most of the cost except for my deposit and I paid $100 a night for the hospital stay. All together my surgery cost me about $1000 if that. Not bad considering some have to pay a lot more, especially self pay. I almost fell out when I saw my bill...a whopping $45,000. There is a support group that gets together in Macon once a month I think. I know there is one in Warner Robins that I have been wanting to go too. But I always hate going place alone, so I haven't made it yet, lol Well, keep in touch with me and let me know whats going on. If you need any help with anything, just holler! Hugs! Kim

Hello Kimberely Thanks again for writing, yes I have been to one of those meeting and they are real nice and lots of good people attend them as well, however I had to stop going because my car broke and I live so far from them. I am in Jones County almost in Gray. I hope to be able to attend them regular one day, as I enjoyed myself that one time. Hope you have a great evening.....see ya later...... Renee
