With all the WLS docs in the greater metro Atlanta - Athens area, I'd think there's a lot of folks who would welcome a weekend conference here. The last one was in Jan. 2005. If you think this is an "IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME" - RESPOND TO THIS POST where AMY WILLIAMS & DR. MONICA GANZ are sure to see it. I imagine they'll be mapping out the 2007 calendar of OH events in September & it would be great to get us on the board. Also, if you have a preference for which month - speak up! Personally, I think LATE JANUARY - FEB. is a perfect time. Let's make our voices heard, GEORGIA! Lauralyn

I think having a conference in Atlanta would be great! We have so much to offer - six flags, the gorgeous new aquarium, world of coke, underground, shopping at Lenox and Phipps, the mall of georgia, Centennial Olympic Park and many many other things. Personally, I think around March or April would be a good time. Jan/feb is too cold and dreary to enjoy all the fun things the city has to offer. March or April is good because it is finally starting to warm up, the days are a lot longer so it doesn't get as dark as soon.

OK, there's 3 of us who've expressed an opinion about having an OH WEEKEND EVENT IN ATLANTA in 2007. Anybody else? As one of the motivational speakers who participates in these events across the country, my impression is most attendees come for the program and promptly scatter at the end of Saturday's program. That's why I don't think sight-seeing is a factor in scheduling the conference. People are most focused on making weightloss decisions, commitments and recommitments Jan - March every year. So any of those months would be fine, I think. What say the rest of ye? Lauralyn PS Looking forward to seeing my Georgia WLS brothers & sisters in FT. LAUDERDALE next weekend!
