Weight over 500 pounds ?

Hi Meghan, My highest weight was 539 lbs. Due to an illness, my 6 month supervised diet, and my time as a pre op my surgery weight was 382. You may want to contact Dr. John Daly. He operates out of Northside hospital and does high bmis. I have many friends that have used him and were quite pleased with his services. The office number is 404.252.0433 Another surgeon is Dr Clarence Hixson. I think he operates out of Atlanta Medical Center and the office is somewhere downtown. thank you so much! I will research them. What type of illness did you suffer from ~ I was told by one doctor to lose 150 pounds, but It seems impossible to do, because exercising is very hard for me at my size I fell trapped. GOD BLESS

Meghan first off i wanna say you are beautiful. U have a very pretty face My BMI was 72 on my surgery day...if u cannot fine a surgeon in ga..do try florida. My doc does surgery on high BMI's. Also...I wish I had of dropped as much as weight as I could. I thought at the time it was stupid to loose weight forsurgery..but hon trust me it will help you alot to loose weight before your surgery...shrink your liver and whatnot. My doc name is Dr. Bruce Brient in gainesville florida. If i had it to do over again, I would have dropped 100 pounds for surgery. As it was I went in at 425 and although i ddnt have any complications i would just be that much closer to my goal by now. Just cut down on carbs...try to limit the white stuff..bread, pasta and rice. Only eat lean protein and drink only water.. trust me the weight will come off You are gonna have to eat this way post op anyway so might as well start now Take care, Donna

THANKS SO MUCH~ It is really hard to lose 150 pounds for surgery, but I must. I dont get enough exercise because it hurts to do it. I am not giving up though. I am trying to find somewhere to swim were I feel comfortabe at. and I have a workout tape for sitting down for disabled people. GOD BLESS MEGHAN

I am using Dr. Maynard. Surgical Associates of Metro Atlanta Phone: 770-602-1292 Fax: 770-602-1296 1612-B Milstead Road NE Conyers GA 30012 I am not sure if he handles patients over 500 pounds or not. I am 390. And it appeared at the one support group meeting I went to there were people much heavier than me there. I find the staff very friendly and helpful. The doctor is very socialable.
