surgeons or support group near Douglasville???

Hi all, My family just moved here two weeks ago. We are staying at a hotel until we close on our new house in Douglasville towards the end of August...I am looking to find a doctor that deals with bariatric surgery and follow-ups and any support groups that will be near me. If I cannot find a closer support group I plan to try the one getting ready in Henry county. I will also probably need to get in soon with my new regular doctor and ask for a referal. I have been very exhausted for weeks and feeling light-headed, out of breath and just tired. I had labs done three weeks ago at my 3 mth follow up appt and was told things were fine, but I feel otherwise!!! Thanks, Amy

Hi Amy, I don't know of any surgeons or support groups in the Douglasville area but my surgeon Dr Hart has a monthly meeting the first Wednesday of the month. It is held at the Atlanta Bariatric Conference Center 4500 N. Shallowford Road from 6-8 pm. It is open to any one: pre op, post op, thinking about surgery, support folks, and people who have surgery with another dr. I live in douglasville also!!! Welcome! what hotel you staying at? i used Dr. Hixon, i do not know of a support group close by, if i could get someone to car pool with me i'd go to one in henry county or out in atlanta. Hi Tammy, I just noticed your posting...so sorry it took me so long to get in touch with you. Yes, we could probably car pool to Henry county support group after they begin in September, I am not a highway driver (nervous) but I guess I would need to drive highway to get there!! LOL We are actually staying at Ft. McPherson hotel until the 24th when we can move into our new home. We will be living clsoe to Alexander High school. I have a daughter going there and a daughter going to Dorsett Shoals soon. We will be there for open house this week. Do you have school aged children? Where did you have your surgery done?
