Help - eating question
I have a question I had RNY about 11 mths ago and have lost about 147 lbs starting last week (also menstaral time) I felt like I could not stop eating and I fekt that way today too. I just want to munch. I still get full on very little helpings when I do eat a meal. It just worries me that my tool may have stopped and that I will not loose my last 20 lbs. Any advise? HAs anyone else done this and then maybe it will pass. I think starting tonight I will go back to doing liquids and for a few days and increase my water, protein and excercise this week. I think that since i feel this way it is all stressing me thinking I am not going to loose anymore and thet the tool has sropped working. I have learned good eating habits but for some readon this week I just want to eat. I had hoped that the tool of allowing only small portions (and also up until last week - I really did not get hungry and could go w/o eating but I ate the approriate foods..... If I have been grazing this week could I have streatched my pouch to much) What can I do? Please tell me this will pass....
Hey Kristie! Congrats on the weight loss! You done great in a short amount of time!
I am 2 yrs out and go through periods of time where I feel like I can eat the house and a short time later still feel like I need something to eat and then it will pass. I have periods where I feel very hungry and periods where I feel like I can't eat a thing! I find that I feel the most hungry right before and during my period. I feel like this is normal and to tell you the truth some times it worries me too. It's such a mind game! I try to eat healthy foods when I feel the most hungry, but admit that my cravings for chocolate sometimes get the best of me. I try to do it all in moderation though.
I don't think your tool has stopped working and I'm sure that you have not stretched your pouch. Just remember denser, higher protein foods will stay with you longer.
Hugs and hang in there!

Kristie,
I dont know about the eating and menstrual issues...I am past that age (thank goodness), but have you made your yearly appointment with your WLS surgeon?? I noticed that you are coming up to that point very soon. By December 2005, I had lost 100 pounds, and from then until June had only lost another 10 pounds. When I had my blood work done for my yearly appt, it showed that my B-12 was below the normal range. My surgeon put me on a daily regiment of 1000 mg of B-12. In the 1.5 months since my appt, I have lost another 3 pounds!! That is the only thing that I have added to my daily vitamin regiment. When you have your appt, please be sure to ask what your B-12 level is. That might be low, but do discuss with him about your eating and menstrual issues.
Take care.
