PCP today for Gall Bladder Surgery Clearance....
Well, after a year of knowing I have gall stones I'm finally getting the ole thing out. I was hoping that my bariatric surgeon would once again be in contract with United Healthercare so he could do it...but no. So he suggested another surgeon in my community (who is in contract with UHC) that does bariatric surgery and general surgery. My surgical clearance is today, I pre-register at the hospital on Friday and then the surgery is scheduled for 2/10. I am so NOT looking forward to this.....

You'll be ok girlfriend. Dr Kim did mine in August, 3 months after my RNY. Its an in and out surgery, meaning you won't have to stay overnight. Mine was at 11 am and I was sent home at 7pm.
They often go through the old lap incisions so it is easier on you. I felt so much better having it out, than dealing with the gallstone pain. Really, and I promise you, its not a big deal. NOthing like RNY!!! But keep us posted so we can bathe you in prayer. This is not news to God, and rememberHis timing is best.
Father God, calm luvitsunnyv's spirit, let her sense your presence and peace upon her. Take away her anxiety and fears, her frustrations over having this surgery. May her family swell around her and comfort her, and place your hand of blessing and wisdom upon her doc and the nurses caring for her. Let the surgery go smoothly and without complications, and I ask that she be able to return home quickly, feeling so much better. Thank you for this sweet woman and how she has blessed my life. I Know you already have your arms around her.
In Jesus' name, Amen
blessings, and hugs,
Tami
So sorry you're heading back into surgery, but I know you'll feel much better once that nasty gall bladder is out! I had my first gall bladder attack while I was waiting for insurance approval for my RNY. Since the doctors were able to get the pain under control I asked if I could wait until I was approved for gastric bypass and do them both at the same time. The surgeon gave me the OK to wait "until you're approved or have another attack, whichever comes first". Thankfully, I was able to hold out until my RNY and had them both out. The only problem I have now is that I sort of dump (severely sleepy & lathargic) when I eat too many fats. I can live with that!
Hang in there and this will be behind you soon!
