What next? :angst:
Ok, I'm new to this but I am trying to get approved for the surgery. I attended Dr. Seiloff's seminar that he requires. My letter has been sent to the insurance company, by the way its Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO State Employees, I was told today from the insurance company that they sent a letter to the Dr.'s office stating that they need my weight history for the past five years and a psych evaluation. I have moved around the last five years due to my job and I only have my medical history for the last three years. Does anyone know if this is going to hurt my chances of getting approved or not? I have already called my previous doctor and had them fax my medical history to the insurance company and I will be scheduled for my psych evaluation next week. A little about my self I am 37 years old I weigh 260 pounds and I am miserable. I have tried every diet imaginable with little success. My joints hurt, I have trouble breathing, climbing stairs is getting more and more difficult. I just so want this surgery and I am so afraid I won't be approved. Any advice from anyone?
well I had the same doctor for 10 years. He finally copied all of my chart and sent it in. And I got approved. I was BcBS of Florida HMO at the time. I do not know how the PPO works. I will be finding out how PPO works as I am changing to PPO the first of the year and hoping to get my tummy tuck that way.
Good luck to you.
I wish you luck, but from what I've read on these boards, what the insurance company asks for is usually what they really want. Do your best to get them what they want, and if you really can't get the last 5 years, then do you have something older that can show them that you've been heavy for a long time? Maybe that would help.
I wish you success!!
