Happy Thanksgiving, WLS Friends
I will be leaving for Maryland in the morning to spend the holiday with my brother and his family. I am so excited because it should be a lot of fun, cold (love it for a short time) and we'll be doing some outdoorsy stuff. Woo hoo, I can fly without anxiety on whether I will fit or make my neighbor uncomfortable and I wont have to ask for an extension...yippee!
I hope you all have a wonderful, safe holiday and good luck keeping to your eating plan and monitoring those bad carbs.
Happy Turkey Day!
Amy

Happy happy Thanksgiving, girl!! Hope you have a wonderful time with your family and give them all one heck of a surprise!!! I'll be with my family - but lucky since I can't eat nor like turkey too much I should do okay. I've never really been a big TG eater. But I've been dipping into the candy a bit due to stress and end-of-the-year blues.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I appreciate the reminder to stop and be grateful and I have so much to be grateful for this year. Here are some of my gratitude highlights:
* I'm grateful my insurance company approved my surgery and paid more than I thought they would!
* I'm grateful that I have the love and support of my family and friends, including the incredible friends I've made in the WLS community.
* I'm grateful I have a job I love that affords me the insurance and the paid time off to recover.
* I'm grateful I no longer need the seat belt extender!
* I'm grateful I don't have to live in fear about my luggage getting lost in an airport...before I would have to live w/ only the clothes on my back because no stores carried my size. I could only shop online.
* I'm grateful that the pains that were starting to surface in my knees and ankles are now replaced with sore muscles from exercise.
* I'm grateful that I no longer get hungry.
* I'm grateful that I don't want to eat sugar and flour and other non-beneficial carbs.
* I'm grateful there is now room between me and my steering wheel.
* I'm grateful to no longer fear plastic and wicker furniture.
* I'm grateful that I'm able to focus more on friends and family instead of food.
* I'm grateful for the compliments and attention I'm getting on the "weigh" down.
* I'm grateful to be a part of a WLS practice that gave me a clear food plan, and the tools and resources to be successful.
* I'm grateful that the 154 pounds I lost are gone forever!
There is so much more I'm grateful for and I thank you for being the peice of my gratitude that has been my beacon on this journey.
Rhonda
Amy, I hope you have a fantastic holiday, my friend!! Please be safe while traveling though!!!
I liked Rhonda's post on what she's grateful for this year. I also have a list.
1) I was lead to a new church this year that's been a huge blessing in my life.
2) I made it to goal and got my health back.
3) My ex-husband came back into my life as a friend (and nothing more) and our relationship is finally not hurtful.
4) I got a wonderful new career this year that I wasn't even looking for, and at a higher pay!
None of these things would have been last year's New Years Resolutions but I'm so grateful to God for them all.
