can someone help me???
i received a call today from susan (dr murr's) she said that she wanted to set up my appointment to meet the surgeon. i have finished everything with spectra. i told her that my insurance is with amerigroup and that i have 2 more visits with my primary for diet, she said no it is 12 months not 6, when i went to the meeting at tgh she had told me it was 6. so i was all up-set and emailed santa(thanks mike) he told me to calm down and breathe which i have done now. i called amerigroup they said my primary has to send them a letter then they will ok it to be seen by the surgeon, then the surgeon sends in more papers to them, then they approve it(ya right). my husband thinks i should see another dr and see what they say. we spent alot of money at spectra(they don't take insurance). has anyone else had this happened to them or something like this. thanks so much

thanks again mike!
Hey SHerry!
I know one problem I encountered concerning being reimbursed was that since my doctor did not refer me to Spectra or Dr. Murr they would not reimburse me. Hopefully your insurance works a little different. I pray you can get some of the money back. I know how expensive Spectra is. My primary care doctor was not happy with me when she found out how much I spent because it was wasted. I had to go through another doctor due to my insurance and physician network. Stay on top of them. Take care and good luck on your weightloss journey!

Hi Sherry you need to contact you insurance company and find out what they require... Mine required 6 months and I know that spectra is costly I too went thru them but that is 1 of Dr Murrs requirements... Thats because they get every thing ready for submition.. Hang in there and don't quit.... I know that I was told that at first I did not need any supervised diet and then at the end I did that pissed me off that they waited til the end to tell me it put me back 4 months...Cyndee
