Hi everyone, I just got a call from the Surgeons Office that my PCP sent me to, to see if I was a Candidate for the Gastric Bypass Surgery, even thou he does not perform the Surgery. He wrote me a letter stating that I was a very good Candidate and that I understand everything that is expected from the Surgery and that he highly recommends me to have it. Also he exsplained in detail, concerning all the other problems that come along with that. So he will be sending it to my PCP today and can anyone tell me what is NEXT.?

What Surgeon did he send you too? As what is his/her Specialty? As I'm sure other will suggest as I am you find a Surgeon that has done the Procedure more than just a few times. I'm using Dr.Rehnke in St.Petersburg. But there's Dr.Murr in Tampa also. Start here searching for yourself: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/professionals/list-professionals.php Mike

For my insurance I had to have a letter from my PCP that said I had seen him for 6 consecutive months and that my PCP had documented my weight lose attempts in those 6 months. Then I found a surgeon that I trusted (Dr. Kim at Celebration Health) and his office collected all the paperwork including the PCP letter and sent it in for approval. All of the above took a year and a half! Good luck on your journey. Rhonda
