Looking for Bariatric Surgeon In Tallahassee, Florida AreaI' :-S

I'm looking for a Surgeon to do the Gastric By-Pass procedure in Tallahassee, Florida the only one I've been able to find who takes Medicare is Dr. Nye in Pensacola. I'm from Moultrie, Ga and that's a really like drive up to 5 1/2 hours. Tallahassee is just about 1 1/2 hours away. Any advise. I'm desperate. I finally got my disability check going and have the money to do the procedure. My primary insurance won't do it. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Georgia Please help me Deborah Joyner

Wait till after 1/1/06. BC/BS will start paying for the Gastric Bypass again. See posting on my Surgeon's website. He posted it about 1 month ago. Sherri

Hi Sherri: Did I read that right that BCBS of FL is going to start paying again? Wow, that's great news! Can you tell me where to find the info? We have several friends wanting to have lap RNY and BCBS of course hasn't been approving this year. Thanks, Melissa & Dan

Deborah, Dr. Sieloff does RNY in Tallahassee & he is excellent! However, He doesn't take most insurances (does CHP) & I don't think he takes Medicare. Good luck in your search! Vickie J.
