Insomnia problems?
I am 7 months out from gastric bypass and I'm still having problems with insomnia. I think I had about a 2 month break from it and actually slept through most of the night but would still wake up almost hourly.
The doctor started me on ambien but I'm still only sleeping like 3 hours.
Anyone else have similar problems?
If so, what did you do?
Stephanie
I have the same problem. Getting to sleep and staying asleep. You may not be absorbing all of the ambien they had to give me 10 mg. but then I switched to the new lunesta. I just moved here from VA and no one seems to carry the lunesta, not even the hospital I was in a few weeks ago. Also try to take your meds on an empty stomach.
Good Luck I know its a pain.
I too have insomnia. It is 6:30 on Sunday morning and I have been up since 3. Went to bed about 1. Don't have an answer for you as to how to fix it. I have dealt with it all my life. I am lucky enough to not have to work outside the house so if I get really tired I can lay down. Bad part about that is napping during the day means another night not sleeping.
Hoping you are snoozing away.
Hugs,
Kat
WOW, I feel for you guys who struggle with insomnia, I know how miserable that can be. But I have to agree with Rhonda, since my surgery I sleep BETTER than ever! I don't snore anymore, I don't eat late at night anymore, I don't get depressed and stress about my weight anymore ~ all things that used to impact my sleep. My new life of healthier eating and exercise seems to have curbed my insomnia. Don't get me wrong, I will have a bout now and then, but it usually when I am stressed out because of work or a man
but typically, I sleep through the night and soundly. TylenolPM works great for me if I am struggling early in the night, but I'll tough it out if it's too late to take something.
I also used to be a 10 hr/night sleeper, now I am fine with just 6hr...just another wonderful benefit of WLS!
Good luck, Ladies!
