I Was Weepy All Day Today

I can't believe it was nearly 8:30 this morning before I realized what day it was. It was not just the day I was supposed to have started my vacation in New Orleans. It is the one year anniversary of my WLS!! I got so choked up just remembering the different things that have happened in the last 12 months that I just was so overcome by emotion! There have been changes in my appearance and my health, but also in my career and I have met some wonderful and amazing people whom I am so pleased and proud to call my new friends. It's not just that clothes look so good, but I have my actual life back. I can work without getting tired, and I can walk and talk at the same time without getting winded and out of breath. I can RUN to catch an elevator, even in pretty shoes!! I can cross my legs in either direction. I'm constantly mistaken for a naturally thin person!! It's amazing! So, I went right over to the flower shop and got a nice big plant for Dr. Jawad and his amazing staff and went over to the office with it. Of course, it's Thursday and that means Pre-Op Day, but I barged right on through anyway. Dr. Jawad was in the back but came right up to me and I told him I had come for a hug. I got that big hug and even gave him a kiss and tried to explain how grateful I was, but I couldn't express it!!! I know everyone in the office is busy, so I left right away, but not before stopping briefly in the waiting room to tell the Pre-Ops (who were waiting for the next speaker) that it was my anniversary and that they were right on the brink of the BEST year of their life. One woman's jaw dropped and I could tell she was shocked that I was a patient. I said ALL that just to publicly thank Dr. Jawad, Sylvia, Sheila, and all the wonderful caring folks at the office. You have given me back my life and I'm so grateful. THANK YOU!!!!

Aaah Jan - Congratulations on all your good news...You deserve it since you have worked hard to get to this point!!

Jan, Dr. Jawad & staff may have given you the tool, but you're the one who used that tool properly and worked to make your new life a success so YOU deserve lots of praise & congrats, too!!! You've been one of the folks on the FL board that have been an inspiration to me and I want to thank YOU for being there for me & sharing your journey with all of us! HUGS!! Vickie J.

If truth be told, Vickie, I give God the glory above anything I've done or anything Dr. Jawad did! HE is the one *****ally made it all possible and gave the doctor his talent, etc.! All I can say is, what a year!! Jan 240/128/115 (at size goal)

Jan--Hope your day was wonderful! Happy belated anniversary. I agree with what Vicki said--the doc gave you the tool, but it is YOU who worked the tool and continue to work it now. Great job!!! Hope to see you over on the grad board sometime.

Congratulations Jan. Quite an accomplishment. Your post was so sweet, made me get teary eyed. Dr Jawad & his team sound wonderful. I am only 7 months out but I pray for my surgeon on a daily basis that he can give more people back their lives. You picked up that ball and ran with it and you deserve allot of praise. I hope in 5 more months I am at goal as well.
