Help Finding a Nutrionist in Clearwater area.
Hello all, I need assistance in finding a nutrionist in the Clearwater area. My insurance (Cigna PPO) requires I see a nutrionist in regards to what my post surgery eating will be like (high protein, low carb). I know all this but the insurance requires this. So just letting my fingers do the walking in the yellow pages to find a nutrionist is easy, finding one who specializes in WLS might be a bit harder. That's why I thought I would write here, since everyone is so eager to share their experiences and knowledge - which is how I've been learning besides profiles. Thanks everyone in advance for any info you could pass on to me!

I have three suggestions: First contact your insurance company for a referral, second talk to your surgeon's office, perhaps they can provide you with a list of providers they have worked with in the past and three if neither of those work call the nutritionist at the hospital where you will have your surgery to see if they can do the consult and bill your insurance.

Thanks for the info, but I was able to do a search for her name and address thru the yellow pages website. But I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you passing along the info. You saved me about 8 phone calls, plus the time it would have taken out of a receptionists day to answer my bariatric questions. Hope your journey is safe and blessed.

I am glad you found her, she is great. I checked your profile and we went to the same Psych as well. Hope you have luck in your journey as well. Mine has been a good one and can only get better. I started at 399 at my highest, 352 when I started with Dr. Case and am at 193 today and only a few short pounds away from goal. Keep your head up and all will work out for you!
