Hi everybody!!! I just wanted to ask some questions about your 6th month out until now and get some truthful but positive feedback. How did you feel? How was your appetite? How much did your weight loss slow down? At any time that you went on the scale, did your weight see-saw between two to three pounds? Did you have any anxiety that since you were six months out that you were going to stop losing weight? What kind of things do you eat? I just reached my six month point on Aug. 28th and I'm kind of nervous due to the fact that I was told at the doctor's office that my weight loss would be slower now. I have a fear of it stopping all together. I need some advise!!!!! Beverly

Six months out I felt fantastic and I still do. My appetite was there if I didn't eat lunch, but I got full very quickly and still do. I continued to lose 10+ lbs. per month at 6 months out. My weight is see-sawing now, at 12 months out, but I'm very nearly at goal. On the other hand, the scale lies so as long as I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, I don't worry. I haven't had a plateau of any kind yet. I had no anxiety at 6 months out but I recently dreamed that I was fat again. I woked up and still had plenty of bones, so I'm ok!! I ate very little beef or pork, mostly chicken and fish. I ate protein first and still do. I enjoy a little salad for ruffage. Do what you're told and practice those good, new habits and you'll be fine!!! Jan 240/128/115

Hey Beverly, Here's my 2 cents! How did you feel? I feel great...but concerned about the slowing down of the weight lose. How was your appetite? I really don't have a stomach appetite...I never get hungry. However I do have a "head" appetite. My brain wants to eat more than my stomach. I don't give into my head! How much did your weight loss slow down? Month 6 I lost 8 pounds and month 7 I lost 9 pounds. I wasn't happy with that but my doctor said it was natural. I'm concerned because I have over 200 pounds to lose. At this rate I won't lose it all in the magical 18 month window which scares me. I am however very grateful because I know if it weren't for the surgery I'd be even bigger than I was when I started this journey. At any time that you went on the scale, did your weight see-saw between two to three pounds? I try to only weigh myself once a month at my doctors office. Yesterday and today I was around two scales so I weighed myself both days. Yesterday the scale said I had lost 9 pounds in two weeks, today it said I had lost 5 pounds. I can make myself crazy! That's why I don't own a scale. Did you have any anxiety that since you were six months out that you were going to stop losing weight? YES! ALL THE TIME. I just have to trust the process and learn from all the other folks on this site. What kind of things do you eat? I eat mostly protein. I think you have Dr. Kim too. I didn't go on the 6 month food plan. I'm keeping with mostly protien. I eat boars head lunch meat, sardines, oysters, salmon. All I know is that I just keep doing what they tell me to do and trust that the tool and my effort will yeild the results I desire. The bottom line is that it could be worse! I could be gaining! Good luck! Rhonda

As far as when it starts to slow down also can depend on how much you had to lose in the first place. But on average, anywhere from 6 months to a year is when it slows down. It cannot remain as rapid as it was in the first 6 months. But it doesnt mean you will stop losing altogether. Dont stress yourself out too much over the "what ifs". Your body will gradually come to a weight where it is comfortable. How much you lose towards the end will depend on you. Keep positive and take it one day at a time. I find that planning what I am going to eat the day before makes it easier to stick to my plan. I like to eat things like grilled chicken breast, tuna salad, low-fat cheeses (especially Laughing Cow Light), and CHILI (yum). I also eat cottage cheese, yogurt, protein shakes, deli-sliced turkey breast, eggs, and mexican food. I pretty much dont eat anything sugary, and no rice, pasta or potatoes. For a snack I like to make sugar-free instant pudding, mixed with Carb Countdown milk, and I mix in some protein powder. I wish you all the best and much success and happiness * Debbie *

@ 6months post op I was at surgeon's goal. I had no appetite. My weight loss slowed but continued despite me adding some carbs to my diet. I had some small plateus. I was more anxious about continuing to lose...maybe too much. I'm now a little afraid that someday I might gain. My favorites: FF cottage cheese, SF jello & mandarin oranges (lunch) Wendy's Chili w/salsa Refried Beans w/cheese Fish & Seafood Foods I hate but occasionally tolerate: chicken and eggs Best of luck, luvitsunnyv
