As we sit in our homes here in Florida watching the news and listening to the report about Katerina. We all prayed for her to miss us. Seeing the destruction that she has brought the Gulf Coast. You could only sit and say "That could have been us". How many times could that have been us? This season is not yet over and we only really just begun. How much more could the people take? You have people that say well they did not evacuate so what do you expect? Yes, there is a great amount of lives lost. But yet we all sit and in aahhhh. Saying they could have left. How many times have you had to leave? Taking what little amount of money you have to leave. But you know life still goes on. When you live pay check to paycheck something like leaving could be costly. When you return you still have bills to pay and no one really understanding that I may not have the money this week to pay the payment because I had to leave. Again Life goes on and so does bills. You have people who lost everything and they will still be expected to maintain the bills (mortages, insurances, etc...). Where will they get the money for life to go on? Will those that hold their mortage be so forgiving? Will their homes that they once knew be foreclosed upon? Will their drivers Licenses be suspended because they can't maintain car insurance? Now jobs? Where are these people going to work? How are they going to get back on their feet? But you know in the end we could say "That could have been us (the people in Florida)". Warning the season is not over yet. FYI: This was written just to make you think.
