I had surgery on 8/9 but I'm tired all the time lately... I sleep most of the day away and then sleep at night... is this normal??? I also noticed that I get winded easily.... I went to pick up the kids from school and the walk from the parking lot to the school, and I'm winded... any suggestions??? Thanks, Erika C

Erika, FIrst of all congrats on your journey into WLS. It is one hell of a ride. But...the being tired....well I was told we all experience that. I know my first few weeks I was extremely tired and slept alot. It is due to the anstheia It will eventually fade. But also it could be your B-12 levels. If this does not improve I would talk to you surgeon about this. Good Luck! Becky

Erika, Not unusual for this soon after surgery. You may also be entering the "hibernation" phase. All I wanted to do was sit in the recliner and snooze but that passes in 3-4 weeks. Vickie J.

I was like this too, do forget how hard your body is working now to heal and then you will be burning, burning, and burning fat! Don't forget protein is a good source of energy and keeps you from burning muscle. You will feel better soon. I am four weeks out and today I spent so much time dancing and playing with my girls, this is the first in a LONG time I have felt this great!!! It will happen!

Erica, you are so new at this, and it is major surgery! Just think of all your body had to go through, of course you will be sleepy. Its your body's way of healing! Give yourself time...and welcome to the losing side!! Blessings, Tami
