Hysterectomy Friday 082605- update
Hi all,
Well, my pre-op was yesterday and I am all set for surgery. It will be an open procedure - up and down rather than side to side. He will NOT take my ovaries unless they look bad because I am only 37. He may or may not take part of the cerevix. The hospital has only private rooms- yeah! I will be on a morphine pump to start and then some oral med after that, catheter 1 day and should be discharged Monday sometime. I can eat regular food as soon as I feel up to eatting. Today is my oldest son's 15th birthday. Kinda weird that they are taking out the baby making parts so close to his birthday. If anybody wants my home number or address or the hospital info, just send me an email and I will respond tonight.
I love you guys- you really are a great support system!!
Terri
Terri,
My prayers & best wishes are with you. I know what you mean about the weirdness.... I had my hysto the day after my older son's 19th b'day. The vertical incision is rougher than the bikini cut (horizonal) so plan to walk, walk, walk - a lot like after RNY. It does take a bit of effort, but it is well worth it! I wish I'd had my hysto 10 years sooner than I did!!

Hey Terri,
Sorry I didn't get a chance to call last night, I was fighting off an invasion by Anna and Alexa.
Nah, it was a late day at work so I crashed once I got home. I keep you in my thoughts and prayers on Friday, I hope everything goes smoothly and the pain medicine gives you relief. E-mail your info.
Thanks,
Sarah
