Need a new PCP in Clearwater area

I'm extremely unhappy with my PCP's office staff. I like the doc OK, but the office staff screws everything up and they are the rudest bunch I've encounter for a while. I can't really speak to the doc about it because her husband is the office manager and he's the worst one in the bunch. I have BCBS HMO so I can't do anything without the proper paper work. On several occasions I've given them 3 or 4 weeks notice of upcoming appointments so they would have plenty of time to get the referrals completed. I always follow up by calling their office a few days before any appointment to verify everything's been taken care of and always get the same answer... yes. Then I'll call the doctor's office where I have the appointment scheduled to find out different. It's gotten to the point that I have my PCPs staff fax me all my referrals, blood work, etc. so I'll have proof that I have everything I need for an appointment. I know a managed care system takes a lot of the time, but if the office staff can't handle it the doctor shouldn't accept it. Sorry for the rant... but come on...my time is very valuable too! Anyway, if anyone knows of a good PCP in the Clearwater, Dunedin, Palm Harbor area, that accepts BCBS HMO, please let me know. Thanks, Janice

I go to the Diagnostic Clinic off McMullen Booth. There are several doctors there but I chose Dr. Plonka. She is very knowledgeable and spends time with you. The registration desk staff are nice and efficient. There is a lab on site. I would recommend her. If you are interested, you can call and find out if she accepts your insurance.
