Guilt :-(

I have been craving pizza since the surgery. I have had people eat ice cream in front of me and I didn't care, but pizza has been this big thing I have been craving. I stupidly made a Boboli Pizza tonight for my family (although I think I did it on purpose). I ended up eating about 4-5 tiny bites. I feel sooo guilty, I spent all this money to do this and I am screwing up already. I did check the sauce and made sure there was no sugar in the sauce before I tasted it. I have been able to pass up so many things I used to eat, but for some reason this pizza thing has haunted me. I am feeling guilty, but it was pretty darn good!

Amy, you posted this on a public board, and I for one will never give someone permission to do the wrong thing. I know that my surgeon does not allow anything more than a liquid diet at two weeks out! You're possibly doing damage to your new pouch! I would gently suggest you get back on track NOW and do what your surgeon told you to do. He did his work, now it's time to do yours. The reason why you feel guilty is because you are. Listen to your God given feelings and be thankful for them. I'm done giving you the kick in the rear. When I need it, feel free to give me one back!!! By the way, you CAN DO THIS!!!!!! You fell off the wagon, Now it is time to climb back on and do the right thing. They did surgery on our tummys not our heads. Sometimes you have to give in, just don't make it a habit. Just think before surgery it would have been 4 or 5 slices instead of 4 or 5 bites. Good luck, Kat

I agree with Jan Amy.....this is too early for you to be going off your diet! Many people sabatoge this surgery, and this is where you are heading. Eat to live, don't live to eat! Maybe that pizza was tasty, but how about the effects it will have on your healing pouch? If it was your child who had surgery, leg in a cast and they wanted to run outside or climb a tree, what would you say! No way...the doctor said to....... What's different with you? I am lovingly being tough. There is no room for sneaking food at this stage....you've gone through too much to get here, don't ruin it now. And if you can't control yourself , what will you be sneaking in 3 months? And will you be one of those people who complain they are not losing weight..... hugs to you Amy.....you've made a mistake. Don't do it again. Set higher standards, I know you can do it. hugs and blessings, Tami

Thank you all for redirecting me back on track. I knew going into this that it would be tough, and it really is proving to be a challenge of the way I used to live and think. I am becomming a completely new person and the weight loss is also a good motivator. Thanks for the tough love
