Primary Care Doctor

Hi everyone. I just moved from Louisiana and have actually posted this question before but did not get much of a response. I live in the Lake Mary area. If anyone has a primary care doctor or a family practice doctor that is WLS friendly I would so appreciate their names. I've been here reading the boards since the summer and have enjoyed all of you. I will be self-pay Lapband in 2006. Thanks in advance.

Michelle... My doctor is Dr. Joan Wilson with Physicians Associates, and she is very open to WLS if she feels it is medically necessary. The only problem for you would be that she is located over by the UCF campus on University Ave. Good Luck. Debi.

Hi Michelle, I live in DeLand (about 25 mins from Lake Mary). I have Florida Healthcare ins...so my doctor is with them...I don't know much the doctors in your area. My surgeon will be performing Lap Bands in the near future.... Good Luck Hugs, Jen W.

My doctor is Dr. Robert Cywes. Phone: 904-686-0255. Address: 3236 Beach Blvd Jacksonville, Fl. He is a tremendous laporscopic surgeon! Now he is only the lap-band surgeon. For a primary care doctor I would have to recommend Dr. Victor Micolucci. If you are interested in the commute to Jacksonville; I will be happy to provide his address and phone number too. My best advice is to work backwards from the surgeon of your choice. Ask him who he likes working with re: WLS patients, then ask folks on this board who use that PCP what they think. DN @ GOAL
