Okay, for all of you that said it was no biggie to remove the G tube, how many Percacets did you take before the visit?? OMG, it hurt like H***!!! To be fair, the nurse did say I had tight ab muscles (who would have guesssed under all that blubber?) which can make it more painful. Anyway I graduated to "soft foods" and savored everybite of of my cottage cheese dinner. Tomorrow tuna fish, life gets better everyday

Amy, Getting your tube out is like having children...you forget about the pain! Enjoy your soft foods...I still remember that first bite of an egg. It was the best thing I had ever tasted (and now I am sick of them...lol) And yes...life DOES get better everyday after WLS! Welcome to the losing side Terese -130 8-19-03

Oh Amy, I didn't want to say anything before so as not to scare you, but mine hurt like crazy too! Tight muscles was the reason given, grasping onto it and didn't want to let go. OUCH!!! So happy for you that yours is out and your foods have moved to soft!! Karen

I swear it didn't hurt one single bit!! It just slipped out like a little snake and that was that! I felt kind of weird to not be tied to that thing! Sorry yours wasn't fun.

I was told to take a deep breath. It did "smart" but I was having pains with mine so it definitely felt lots better with it out than in. Once I got that thing out, no more pain pills.
