OT: Tallahassee Area Help needed

I'm moving to the area next month and have found in the past that word of mouth is the best way to find things like jobs and apartments. I have a job that is moving me down there, but my husband is in need of work. He's the manual labor type. We are also in need of a place to rent...that will allow my two poodles that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Anybody know of a place that's hiring or a place for rent? ANY help at all you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I"ve been scouring the Tallahassee Democrat online for weeks and haven't had any luck so far.
