Hey All! I had my surg Dec 7th at 245lbs and 5 ft tall. As of this morning I was 155, so I've lost 90 lbs, which is great. My wt loss has slowed to a crawl and last week I was feeling so great by finally buying clothes that are size 12 to 14. Well, I have been drinking my pro shakes and plenty of water and I haven't lost an ounce. I was blaming it on my period, but that's over. I know I should be happy, grateful, etc. But it really depresses me to see the scale not moving. I am motivated to get out there and ride my bike, but I just wish I could lose a pound a day, or even every other day, like it the beginning. You look down at the scale in wonderment, thinking Is this really happening? My MD has set my goal so low (102), that it seems impossible to attain. Right now I just want to get into the 140's. Eventually I want to be around 120. I want to get my Century Sticker!!!! (before the next century, ha ha). Thanks for listening to my own personal Pitty Party. I am off to ride my bike in the hot Florida sun. Maybe I can sweat off a few pounds!! God Bless, MaryKaye

Marykaye, I'm not going to tell you the thing about how great it is that you've lost the 90 pounds, because I think you know that it's amazing. When was the last time you could say you lost 90 pounds in such a short period of time?? I'm wondering if you are weighing yourself everyday or every couple of days. If so, DON'T! It isn't the same as the beginning when you could measure your weight loss every few hours. I've lost 133 pounds in almost 13 months and there were times that I lost 1 pound in 3 weeks or 5 pounds in 2 months. It's just the way it works. Don't be discouraged. It will come off. Stay away from the scale and don't let it judge you. I wouldn't weigh more than once a week and if you're in a pattern where you aren't losing fast, that may even be too often. It sounds like you're doing what you are supposed to do and it's going to happen for you!!! Laura

Laura is so right! I have not had WLS yet, but have always lived by the laws of how what the diet and exercise makes me feel and how my clothes look on me. If it feels good, keep doing it! You must start feeling good about yourself in your own skin, NO MATTER WHAT WEIGHT YOU ARE. Even all the numbers in between. Put the scale away, only weigh yourself weekly as a marker, not as your judge. Only you know how good what you're doing feels good....then keep doing it! Don't get caught up on a numbers, remember we're doing this for our healthier LIVES Keep your chin up.
