OT: Update on me and my baby

Lots of drama in my world......the good news is Sarah is measuring very nice - 85% - 7 lbs. 3 ounces - I went in on Weds. and my amniotic fluid was low which concerned them they sent me to the hospital to monitor her heart for an hour and told me they wanted me back in the office on Thursday to see if the fluid had risen - they told me - go home - put your feet up and drink lots of fluid - which I did - when I went back to the office yesterday - they were happy the fluid was up but the baby had a dip in her heart and they said the umbilical chord was wrapped around her neck - they said normally it doesn't concern them but since they saw a dip in the heart beat that they wanted to do additional monitoring - so back to the hospital yesterday for 2 hours of monitoring - the baby is doing fine - she didn't have any dips or show signs of distress - they want me to just take it easy and I have to go back to the office on Monday for another non-stress test - I was very frightened when I heard the chord was wrapped around her neck - but after talking to the nurses they assured me it was really common.........I can't help but still be a little freaked out by the situation - I'm taking the "take it easy" advice very seriously and will be working from home for the duration of this pregnancy - and I've reduced my hours down to 20 -

I definitely think she's coming before 4/14 - my goal is to just make it into April!

You are doing awesome and best is exactly what you're doing. Following your doc's advice and keep going to those non stress test... they can tell if anything is wrong and that little one needs help.... but sounds like they are on top of it and so are you!!!!   You're doing great!!!

The good news is it sounds as though she's very developed and in great shape so if they have to deliver her early she should do just fine.  They had to take my son 4 weeks early and he did great.  He was actually safer at that point on the outside rather than in due to my having pre-eclampsia. Pack your bags sweetie..... she'll be here before you know it!!!   Ummmm....... April 2nd sounds like a good day to me..... yeah, that would be my b-day!!! ~Sue

Thank you - I do have my bags packed - it was really hard to pick a going home outfit for the baby - I think I have to throw another in the bag if the weather stays this cold - she'll need a winter bunting!!

It's good to know if she comes on 4/2 she'll be in good company!

Like Kathy said, let me know if you need anything since I'm just around the corner :-) You're doing everything right!  And your doc sounds on top of everything.  I had all three of mine at 34-35 weeks and they were all very healthy so if she decides to come early, go with the flow - it will be ok. Keep us updated and rest easy!

Tammy, I can imagine upon hearing the cord is around her neck would be quite frightening. It seems doctors are on top of things. If you notice any decrease in her movements be sure to let the doctors know they would bring you in again for another non-stress test. Keep up your fluid intake and take it easy. You will be meeting your daughter before you know it.

Wishing you all the best.
