Topic: RE: Dr. Snyder, Insurance and Still On Track!!
Hi Megan,
I got the Lap Band, when I had my surgery last June it was all Dr Snyder offered, in fact he went to the Realize seminar or whatever it was the week after my surgery and started offering it just a few weeks after my surgery.  However, I do like it better (but may be partial because it's what I have) because inside part that holds the solution has the little pillows vs a smooth chamber on the Realize one, to me it looks more grippy but that just may be me.  The advantage to the Realize I am told is the lower profile port (though I don't notice mine too much) and the web support, but I heard Lap is offering or will be some support too.  In all reality I think they are both good products and don't think Dr. S would offer both if they weren't.  Guess I am just more familar with what I have.  Glad I didn't have to make the decision as I am terrible about making decisions.  LOL

Hi Long!

Thanks for the comment!!

I really liked Dr. Snyder and I do believe that I have what my insurance company needs, too!  I shall see on Friday!!

Did you get the Lap Band or the Realize band?  I am not sure which one to get, actually!!  I vacillate between the two.

Good luck to you Megan in getting all that paper work in and approved.  Dr. Snyder is an awesome surgeon.  He did my band one year ago.  You are in good hands!

Ah shucks, thanks Lisa, I can't believe you would say you never would guess I had a weight issue.  I guess when I look in the mirror I so many times still see the 305 lbs me and not the me now.  They say it takes awhile for the head to catch up to the body especially since I lost quite rapidly.  Just wish I could lose those last 9 lbs.
I looked for you today too at the 1 week post op nutrition class, but they said one of the folks that had surgery last week wasn't going to be there, that must've been you.
Hope you are continuing to do well.

HI all!!

Met with Dr. Snyder today and went through my paperwork, the consults I had done prior to my meeting and asked him about the 6 month supervised diet deal-io my insurance FAILED to tell me about many months ago when I called about WLS.

BUT!! I have been seeing my primary doc, my NP, whom I love love love!! every month since JAN about weight loss and diet and exercise.  THe insurance guru for Dr. SNyder told me that that is really what they need.

I have an appt. with my NP on Friday and I will ask her to send Jan 09 - Present records to Dr. SNyder/Dolly Insurance Guru and also I need her, my NP , to write a letter of Medical Necessity as well.  I will ask her to do that, too! I think she will, she is ALL for me getting banded!!

SO! I Am excited and looking forward to WHATEVER I have to do to get banded.

An aside: I also want a tubal ligation!! If I can swing both at the same time, I will so try to do that!!

I am still excited, there is NOTHING I will not do to get this band!! ;) Well, within limits of course:)

Hope you all are having an awesome day!!

Dr. Snyder is great, too!

Cheers,

Megan

You might call the Colorado Bariatric Surgery Institute and ask. The number is 303 861-4505. I know they have repaired many band problems done in Mexico as there was an article in the Denver Post about them. They may be willing to do fills. Do you know where your port is? That might help.

Hey there!

Okay so there is the fill center, but do any surgeons here in the Denver area take patients banded out of the country?  Within an hour or two drive even?

Thanks!

Topic: Littleton Support Group Meeting this THURSDAY
It’s that time again! We will be meeting THURSDAY at Faith Community Church in Littleton on 7/9/9 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Since we’ve found a larger and more private location the attendance has been low – I encourage all of you to come see the new place and share your adventures from this summer with us!   The Church is located at: 6228 South Carr Court, Littleton, Colorado. South Carr Court can be accessed by traveling south on Wadsworth, 1 block to the south of Bowles Ave. off of Parkhill. Click here for driving directions.

I just wanted to say how lucky you all are to live in such a wonderful place!  We were in Longmont and Boulder for softball (our daughter) and I fell in love with those two cities.  I've visited Denver & Castlerock but felt so at home in Longmont!

Never move...you've got it too good!  lol.
