Topic: Got a Hot Date!

Saw the surgeon today for my review consultation today - and all set with a surgery date on August 4th.  Wowo, here already. Got to start the pre-operative diet tomorrow.

Already here, didn't think it was going to be this soon, but I'm just fine with that.

Thanks

Mishelle

Topic: RE: Littleton Support Group Meeting Tomorrow (Thurs. 7/23/09)
Yvonne - Are there any Bandsters that come to this meeting? I attended a Kaiser support group meeting yesterday and there were about 8 RNYers there and me. I would like to find a group with other Bandsters. I know some issues are the same, but I feel many are different and I need support from Bandsters.
Thanks,
Matt

I was just wondering when do you think the OH Seminar will come to Colorado? I would definately go, wouldn't you? Everyone looks like they have a good time. Have any of you been to one before?

Topic: New here
Good morning, just thought I would pop in and say hello. I am from England originally, now living in Fort Collins Colorado. I have lived here for almost 35 years.
I had my RNY at Poudre Valley on 1/22/09. I have lost 83 lbs since then. I do try and attend the monthly meetings held at the hospital, I find them very inspirational. Hope to hear from you soon, regards Diane

Topic: RE: Another Medicaid question

You might find a dietician if you have a medical condition such as diabetes for a consult or another disease that requires a specialized personal diet.

Your best luck might be to try the community health center in the town near you to see what services they offer.  As for an excercise physiologist, golly don't know.  If you needed PT for recovery from an injury.  But I know my friend had WLS coverd by medicaid but no other services were offered, if wanted they would have to be self pay.

Topic: Another Medicaid question
I am having an awful time finding a dietitian and exercise physiologist that excepts medicaid, I have looked here on the resources in Colorado, but I am not having any luck. I have also checked out some of the bigger hospitals in Denver with out any luck. Does anyone know of any medicaid dietitians or exercise physiologist?  I need some direction as this search can be a big frustration.

Thanks,
Dawn

Topic: Littleton Support Group Meeting Tomorrow (Thurs. 7/23/09)
We are having our usual meeting tomorrow with a twist…..   Come to Faith Community Church on Wadsworth in Littleton at 6:30 to 8:00 pm.   Please bring a picture of you before your surgery. If you haven’t had your surgery yet – bring a picture of you from your past that is a goal for you – or just a nice picture that you would like to share with everyone.    If you would also like to bring a shirt or pair of pants that you kept for a remembrance or an outfit that you purchased for your future YOU…. Bring that too!   This week we are sharing “Where we’ve come from and Where we are going"….. The Church is located at: 6228 South Carr Court, Littleton, Colorado. South Carr Court can be accessed by traveling south on Wadsworth, 1 block to the south of Bowles Ave. off of Parkhill. Click here for driving directions.

Topic: RE: Dr. Snyder, Insurance and Still On Track!!
Hi Luv!

WOW Dr. Snyder called the ER for you?? He is an awesome doc!!

I have to do the 6 months Dr. Supervised Diet; I have 2 months down.
I need to get my Primary again, to make sure all the documentation is there.

THEN I will have my PCP send everything over to Dr. Snyder's office!!

SO far, so good!! I have everything else EXCEPT the dr. supervised diet.
BAH!

I also started water walking....it helps! I was in a motorcycle accident last June and I haven't felt this good since before the accident!! Plus, I like it and hopefully it will help once I get the band or RNY!!

Thanks for your support!!

Cheers,

Megan
