http://www.5daypouchtest.com/index.html  This is the link to the website for it. I was going to do it this week, but I'm now starting next Monday. I too am out of control with the carbs, especially since my cruise. If you want to do it together you can read up on it this week and be ready for Monday with me!  Just let me know, the more the better for accountability and I definitely need that right now!!!            big hugs, Becky

Janine and friends, I rarely post on the morning post but read daily to see what words of wisdom Janine has. I am amazed by your recent steady losses. I am over 5 years out from surgery and stay accountable to the scale. I weigh everyday and make the necessary changes to stay where I am. Good or bad I have experience with gaining the weight back. My older sister had her surgery 11/00, lost about 100 and gained all that back and then some. I will give her the benefit of the doubt that all of her combined health isuses have contributed to the weight gain. However, regardless of the reason for her weight gain, it has kept me pretty vigilant on watching my weight.  After my physical test today I plan to do the 5 day pouch test and get rid of the carbs that have slid into my diet. I decided to wait as I have been getting ready for the test. I do have 10 lbs that I would love to go away. I would be thrilled if I could get it gone and a few more.  I agree that it would be great if more old timers would come out and share. Good or bad , the varied experiences would help those researching weight loss surgery. I know for myself I read and read and read during the year it took for me to get my surgery. Ok please everyone keep me in mind at 1pm today as I go and attack the physical ability test. Thanks for your thoughts.

Good morning Janine, Your posts are so insightful and inspirational...and I THANK YOU for posting!!  I have noticed that I have started to add more carbs/junk into my diet.  Mainly because it's in the house and for my new beau...well I have got to learn that things are for HIM and not me.  It might be time for me to create a no Shell shelf in the house.  Where we put his stuff.  We'll see. Today is a new day full of promise.  Here's to keeping the promise to myself to love me more then the carbs! Have a great week! Ms Shell

Thank you for those words Janine.  My husband and I have both had the surgery and keep track of our food on mydailyplate.com.  Just last night we were both talking about the fact that for the rest of our lives we'll have to watch and track everything we eat and that's okay.  I know I'm in the "honeymoon" phase right now and that this will take a lifetime commitment and won't be easy, but the alternative just isn't an option.   Here's to a  great day in California (even if it is cloudy)

Thank you Janine, As I mentioned yesterday, and many others have shared this morning - you truly are an inspiration to many of us.  I am a big believer that we need to be true to ourselves and that means committing to this lifestyle change.  It is a very difficult thing to do, but as someone mentioned - we have no other option!   I have begun day 2 and am struglling, but I will get there. Again, Thank you for your beautiful words!!!

Good morning Janine and Cali! Janine and some of the other "old timers" that have come out of the wood work to remind me this is a life long battle and the honeymoon will end. I know I had WLS as a last resort to regain my health and I do not intend on letting myself slip. The reminders and support from all of you help me keep myself in check. Hope everyone has a great day! sue
