Okay, I'm usually really cool, calm and collected... For some reason I'm REALLY nervous about my plastics stage... Maybe the pain factor and knowing all the little complications which arise from reconstructive surgery. I wasn't THIS nervous about any of my RNY appointments or even surgery day... I just went with it moment by moment. Maybe this is the finality of it all... Maybe I won't like how I turn out? Maybe I'll need a re-do? Maybe it's because I'm there there... at goal weight and never thought I'd make it... Maybe I need to take a Xanax... lols...

Dr. Andre Aboolian: May 1st consult appointment
Dr. Timothy Katzen: May 31st (second free consult)

Thank you all, just putting it out there...

Have a nice day,
Kim

****Hugs***** You have worked your butt off (literally!) to get this far and you deserve to have your reconstuction, so go out there, get these consults done with, and get it! I know you are going to come through this surgery with flying colors, you have nothing to worry about!

Maybe it is because you have to stand there buck naked while they look at every inch of your body and talk about how much they will have to do!  Most definitely not the funnest day. You will do great though.  I am betting it is the finality of it all.  You are finishing off your greatest project to date - you! Try not to stress, I don't know about Dr. Aboolian, but Dr. Katzen has really nice fluffy robes for you to wear, none of those "the opening goes in the back" wonderful hospital gowns for him! Hugs to you

We could all make the Shar-Pei look a new fad and make it real popular!!! I know I qualify for that, for sure!!!!  lmao  I'm sure it is very emotional to put the final touches on the new you! You will do fine and just be proud of yourself for being where you are, you deserve it!!! Best of luck on your consults!!!!         big hugs, Becky

Hi Kim, Dr. Aboolian may not have the fluffy robe for you to wear, but he is going to pull on all of your excess skin so you could see what you will look like after surgery.  He will tell you how long your surgery will be.  You will talk about costs with his office manager.  He will tell you whether or not you are ready for surgery (I am sure that you are after all of your hard work).  Then afterwards you go into a room, so his assistant can take pictures from various angles. Take a deep breath and go do it.   Kim

Hand held Kim That is so awesome!  I had a couple of consults already.  You're gonna be fine.  I'm actually planning to have PS this summer.  The pain factor has had a lot to do with my anxieties over whether I should even bother going through with this stage and definitely the possibility of complications.  I didn't worry this much over my RNY surgery either but I really want to come full circle. You'll be fine.  Take the Xanax

I hear you about the nervous thing.  I am scheduled for a lower body lift on May 9th.  One minute I'm so excited I can barely contain it....the next I'm literally sick I am so scared.  I'm more worried about the pain than anything.  I don't know if I am strong enough to get through that!   Good luck!
