Gotcha curious eh? LOL

Well today I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that my oldest son turned 30 today!

James was saying to me last night about he felt like he had not accomplished a lot.....like hello.....look at the gorgeous daughter of yours, you own a house, nice cars....going to school, has a good paying job....great wife...and of course mother (giggle). I replied to him think of how I feel.

His reply was, "Mom you have had 24 years to get use to it!" I am telling you, I do not know what is harder...knowing I have a 30 year old or turning 54 in July. Maybe a little of both.

My friend said she had a hard time with her daughter turning 31 this past weekend and she said I don't know how that happened since I am only 42 LOL!

Oh well life marches on....

That is too funny!! My mom, who is almost 20 years older than me, had a hard time the year I turned 40 and she turned 60. Not because she was turning 60, but because I, her oldest child, was turning 40! That made her feel really old!!! lol  Your son at 30 has more going for him than my husband and I at 43 and 47!! lol  Tell him that, it may make him feel better!!!  30 can be a hard age for a lot of people!!!  biggest hugs and love, Becky

Thanks Becky....I know he will be fine....he is just so unsettled because he thinks there is something wrong with himself because once he accomplishes something he is not satisfied and wants to do something new or   learn something new. I am going to him last night...like what is wrong with that? Most people wil stay in a job or career for a lifetime and wake up some day and say what did I do with my life? I raised my boys to follow their passion verses how much they could earn or the prestige of their jobs because if you are not passionate about what you do...then you are miserable at what you do.

Have a great day Becky Kisses

Hey it could be worse, you could be having your oldest child turning 60, so just look at the bright side of it, it's not you who has a kid who is going to be 60.  Thirty is nothing!

Janine,

My mom could not "get used" to the fact that she had a child as old as me since she still felt young...

so she decided a couple of years ago when I turned 39 ... that instead of pretending to herself that she was 49.....

we would be twins!!! Now we are both 39 and holding!

Our little group that used to all go to the same church have a lovely friend who is turning 60 this year.  We want to have a party for her, and so we told her we won't send out "Judy is turning 60 this year..."invitations, instead they are going to say that we are celebrating the 33rd anniversary of her 18th birthday!   Roll Kim
