Depends on many things~ What type of surgery, any complications, etc.  If all goes well it can be 2-3 days.

Topic: How long in the hospital?
 Hi,

I was wondering how long do you stay in the hospital after the surgery? Do you leave that same day?

Thank you

Topic: No primary doc...

 Hi there,

I moved to BC recently from another country, and I do not have a primary doctor. I have been looking for a good one for a while now, but it is really hard to find one that will take new patients.

I have been overweight since I was 11 and it is getting progressively worse. I went on a diet back in 08 and got to a good weight, but i have since took it all back in + about 50lbs more.

I was wondering if it is possible to get a referral from a walk-in clinic doctor? that is what I have been using right now since i dont have a P.doc.

Thanks for any help you can offer :)

bamf, funny you should mention this!  I did that very thing yesterday :)  my concern was the long wait.   I have already ordered the book too.
Thanks for your response.

If you get your GP or Specialist to refer you to West Coast Bariatric Surgery, in Richmond, it would be covered by BC Medical (MSP).  The doctors (Nguyen & Sampath) are both excellent bariatric surgeons.  Check out website www.westcoastbariatricsurgery.com   Wait time for first consult is about a year and then surgery date is given quite quickly, once you have completed their program, which can be started as soon as a referral is given, you do not have to wait until first consult.

 Hi fellow BC'ers!

I'm too am currently researching for a PS here and for MX.  I'm so far leaning towards Dr Sauceda in Monterray but I have at least 1 consult so far scheduled for here (Dr. Ross Horton).

Any suggestions are welcome!
