The STORM ha**** me~
I am stressed to the max. Fianlly took something for my nerves. I've been home alone all day and couldn't reach anyone about what plans we have for the evening. Daddy finally stopped by and asked me to get dinner for tonight at his house. Oh my goodness......didn't have a clue what I was gonna do. He told me to pick up a bucket of chicken and get some rolls. Duh......chicken and rolls??? That would not do for me. Kyle is picking up chicken at his store....got that taken care of. But then what??? God sent me two angels. As I was putting baked beans in the oven and trying to rack my brain on what else I could do with what I have....the phone rang. It was my two aunts from Centreville. They are here in Tuscaloosa and bringing Kyle and Justin (Jill's bf) each a Homemade Red Velvet cake and Holly and I our favorite cheese ball that they make. By golly, that was an answer to prayer. I even have crackers in the cabinet for the cheese ball. I had some cookie dough in the fridge and have chocolate c chip cookies in the oven too. I have baked 5 dozen so far. I got to looking in the freezer and found a large pack of rolls and a friend from church brought by 2 loaves of homemade sour dough bread over yesterday for Christmas.. So.....we have dinner all taken care of. PRAISE THE LORD! I am so blessed. Ain't God good? And talk about perfect timing.
On such short notice, I once went to a party where the person ordered pizza and then took cookie cutters and cut the pizza out into Christmas shapes. Hey, it was festive and people loved it. She bought a bag of salad and some bread sticks, and guess what.....a very nice dinner for the crowd.
Few things are worth getting upset over, especially when we remember that Joseph had no room at the end, and I bet he didn't have dinner reservations either, and yet he found shelter for the Christ Child to be born. And the heavenly display was greater than any Fourth of July that we have ever seen.
