The CALM before the STORM~

It's been so quiet around my house since yesterday afternoon.  I never left my house yesterday.  I did shower, but I put on fresh flannel pj's and relaxed the entire evening.  Kyle and i went  to bed at 8:30.  Everyone is up and off to work this morning, so I still have the entire house to myself.  Oh, it's so quiet.  No television, no noise....NOTHING!  This evening should be a busy one as well as tomorrow, even though we are still all up in air about what exactly we're going to do.  I KNOW we're going to my Daddy's tonight and my aunt's tomorrow, but that's all I know.  We will open SOME gifts tonight at my Daddy's and I guess we will open the rest in the morning.

I'm going to made my Christmas breakfast casserole tonight, as it's better after soaking overnight and then I will pop it in the oven first thing in the morning.

I have managed to not gain any weight so far.  I have not been in an eating mood and cannot tolerate much food at this time.  I guess that's a good thing, huh?

Well, I will go dig up my Breakfast Casserole for ya'll and post it in a bit.  Ya'll will love it and it's so easy too.

I don't know about ya'll, but this weather has been really weird lately.  It's quiet scary if ya ask me.  It reminds me of the weather the year of the Dec. 16, 2000 deadly tornado that we had here.  Let's all keep praying.

The weather is weird and it does feel tornado-y. I've been saying that for a couple of weeks now.

Last night, there were deer in our yard. We are at the (closed) fort and the deer have gotten HUGE. I wish I could snap pictures but the battery to my camera is dead and the charger is in storage. I wi**** would snow while we are here. It would be postcard perfect.. but I'm not forcasting snow.

Gina, Gina, Gina, Gina, Gina.....YOU HAVE BEEN ON MY MIND AND IN MY PRAYERS!  Where are you girl?  Are you spending Christmas somewhere other than the motel?  I hope and pray they get you back in your house soon.  I know how you feel.  I've been there twice myself.  House fires are NO FUN, no not at all.  We had a huge tree limb crash into our roof a few days ago.  Thank goodness it didn't come through the ceiling.  It's right above the computer.  Of course no one has come out yet to fix it.  Kyle got up on the roof and patched it with wood, silicone and roofing tar till someone can get out to fix it.  We also had a leak in our laundry room a few weeks ago, so there is major roofing repairs and ceiling repairs to be done.  Thank goodness it's under warranty.  I am just too impatient waiting for them to get here to fix everything.  ugh......

Good luck and God bless you Gina.  Keep in touch.  Hope to talk to you real soon.

Merry Christmas,

Elle

We are having Christmas at Karla's tomorrow, then on Saturday we will be in Jacksonville for a get together with my mom. (I dont have to cook for either... LOL)

It seems that the life of any product is only as good as the warranty.

Yesterday, we spackled the walls and today Billy is sanding them. (Servopro paints but doesnt patch nail holes). They havent started painting yet but should get to that on Monday, then things should move along fairly quick. We were going to re-vamp the bathrooms since they had to be re-done but the expense got too big so we are going back with exactly what we had. Our total out of pocket thus far is hanging right around $6000. That's including the deductibles and things not covered by my policy. (We live from payday to payday.. so $6000 was like half a million to us). It's Christmas though and there's so many things more important than the house or money so we are doing good.

It's gray and drizzly down here in the southern part of the state.  We're only expecting 30% chance, which is not much.  I hope it clears up before I head to Gulf Shores to attend Christmas services with Julie.  I am soooo excited to finally visit her church.

It is awfully quiet here too.  I took my MIL (who doesn't drive) out on a few errands and to pick up a couple of things here and there and nothing was crowded.

Have a great holiday, Elle!
