Friday Coffee Talk

(singing) Wu ha Wu ha....Friday is here!    Wu ha Wu ha....Friday is here!     The weekend is only hours away!  I know you are excited. Do you have big plans? Gotta get that shopping done!   Good morning!  LOL  Are ya awake yet?  

Our challenge today is to not get so caught up in the shopping and the commercialism of Christmas that it passes you by.  I remember when Christmas was about love, family, spending time with loved ones, and family traditions.  Now, it is rush rush rush and no time to enjoy the REAL Christmas.  Of course, we know Christmas is about our Savior's birth, but too, it is about family and love.  Why have we allowed Christmas to dwindle to nothing but shopping sprees?  Nothing but a rush?  It was JUST Thanksgiving and now with all the shopping and rushing, Christmas is here.  I want to slow down and enjoy these next few days leading up to Christmas.  Will you join me?  Enjoy what is left leading up to Christmas?  Slow down?  Lets just do it!

So, who's up?  What cha sippin' on?  I'm enjoying some awesome Gevalia Ventor Spice coffee and it sure is good.  I was surprised to come home and find this package on my front porch.  I have no idea where it came from.  Just a package with 4 packs of coffee.  THANK YOU SOMEONE!  HEHEHE

Big plans???  Got to work today, then after work Olivia, her cousin Jennifer and I will go Christmas Shopping!   It will be a girl's evening out SHOPPING!!!  WOO HOO!!!  I love spending time with Olivia!  I love spending one on one time with ALL of my kids!  I love them so much!!!
Then, Saturday we will clean the house, make a WM run and bake goodies!  Saturday evening we will meet up with the Alldredges for Christmas.
Sunday, it's church and enjoying the family!
I am OFF all next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am enjoying some Caramel Truffel that Cristy (my secret pal) sent me. Let's remember her in our prayers today as she is undergoing surgery with Dr. Freeman for a suspected hernia.

I love December. This Sunday some of the singers with Gaither Homecoming Tour will be at our church to sing. And then Monday night we are doing "One Silent Night" a candlelight communion service and to just realize that Christmas should be simple. Just to celebrate the birth of our King. Then of course Wednesday night is our Christmas Eve candlelight services.
I'm so glad you made this our challenge today. Everyone is rushing around -- in a hurry-- traffic jams. But ya know what?? It's 2000 years later and they are doing all of this for HIS birth.
People that say they don't believe.. they put up trees.. give out gifts..and it's all in the name of JESUS. Some may have forgotten the SIMPLY Christmas, but we still celebrate it because it is JESUS. I was thinking about that this week as I took time to think about some of the very people on this board.
Anyway... Enjoy your coffee and your slow weekend as we prepare for Christmas. Let us take the time to smile at one another - love one another and remember the GIFT is free!! All you have to do is accept it! AMEN!

Great reply my friend!  OH!  Good morning!  LOL  I am better this a.m.  Last night around midnight, my blood sugar shot down to 53 after being almost 400.  I took some insulin and it made it plummet.  I KNOW God is healing my pancreas and I WILL NOT have to take insulin any longer!

I was thinking this same thing last week Julie.  People say they don't believe in Jesus or His brith, but they sure do celebrate Christmas!  HA!  CHRISTmas is about Jesus' birth and WE KNOW He is alive and DID come to save lot lost.  You're right!  All you have to do is accept Him!!

Good morning!  All my shopping is finished.  We don't over-do it with the presents, I would rather have a nice day with family and good food than any gift...though the gifts are a nice bonus for the day.   We are fortunate to have our granddaughter this weekend.  We have so much planned for her this weekend.  We are doing her Christmas for her this weekend.  We took her to ride a little train and see the Christmas lights and to see Santa (who at 3yo, she was still very wary of).  Tonight will be family night.  She gets to FINALLY open her presents.  They are driving her nuts just sitting there all wrapped up and waiting for her.  The on Saturday We're going to see the movie Bolt (anyone seen it yet?  How was it?  Should we do 3-D?) and take her to the park.  Naturally my camera will be on at all times.  We enjoy our time with her sooo much.

This morning I am sipping on some Community Coffee.  Yep, just a plain old cup of joe.  My husband is sleeping in with the little one so I didn't make the usual cappucino.  Congrats on the surprise box of coffee...we should all get such surprises.

Everyone have a terrific Day.  I just can't wait until 4:00 whwen I can get off work and get back home to my family and start my weekend.
