I was at the Church yesterday and around 1, I had an episode of confusion and got very thirsty and dry mouth.  I couldn't remember where I was or what I was doing for a minute or 2.  I found myself sitting at my desk with the phone in my hand and my glasses upside down on my face.  2 ladies at our church prayed with me and My Pastor came in and took me home.  I should have let him take me to the ER right then.  My blood sugar was 575.  I took '20" yes 20 units of insulin and it came down to 438.  Lucy came home from work to be with me.  I dunno what I would do w/o my awesome and wonderful wife.  She was by my side the entire time.  I love this woman so much.  God truly gave me an awsome help mate, wife, and FRIEND!  Back to the story.  They took me to the ER here in Luverne.  I should have gone to Montgomery.  My Endocrinologist told them to push fluids.  They were going to send me home because they said my machine must not be calibrated as my sugar was "only" 298 by their machine.  THAT IS AFTER 20 Units of insulin.  I have NEVER taken 20 units!  My pastor's wife told them that my Blood sugar was checked by 2 machines (it was) and they both were with in a few points.  They finally looked at my records and saw I was just there last week for the same thing (sent home with no fluids) and they finally began to give me fluids and more insulin.  My Sugar plummeted to 72 and I got the "shakes".  They then gave me graham crackers and p'nut butter.  It shot right back up to 348.  I spent 7 1/2 hours there and when I went home, it was 246.  I WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER EPIDURAL!  2 back to back have reeked havoc on my blood sugar.  They told me it would make it crazy, but SHESH!  Please keep me in your prayers.  I KNOW I am healed and I will be fine.

Thank you for praying with me yesterday my friend!  I love and appreciate you!  Even though we don't talk very much at all, I know I can count on you when I need prayer!!!  Love ya Carmen!

Love all of you and PLEASE, if you are diabetic, KEEP WATCH ON YOUR BLOOD SUGARS!

OMG!  Sorry to hear that your sugar is so our of whack.  So, you think it was the epidural that is causing it to be so high?  I take it that you are a type I diabetic.  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers today that your sugar stabilizes and stays that way.  You sure must've put a scare into those two ladies and your pastor...I can just picture you sitting there looking dazed and confused with your glasses on upside down holding onto the phone.  That's scarey that it can hit you just like that and you weren't even aware of it until it was too late.

Take care of yourself buddy!  You have too many people who need you.

Randall,
I am so sorry friend!! Blood sugar issues truly are nothing to mess with!!
Thank the Lord you are ok!!

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.

I am glad you are better.  I prayed for you all afternoon.  The girls in the office kept looking at me because I was so silent, which is NOT at all like me .  They thought something was wrong with me.  Nope...just meditating.  I know you are healed.  I just know and I am standing on that.  Please...any time you need me, call me.   That is what I am here for.  I love you and Lucy so so much!!!!

Hey YOU!

So SO Sorry your Glucose is so wacky right now.  Whenever I send a diabetic for an epidural I instruct them to test their glucose no less than every six hours and ANY time they feel anything slightly abnormal.

Glad your better though!

Blessings...

Please call your mom and tell her Thank you for me!  She sent me a lovely card and I want her to know I got it!
Faith is NOT believing God can.
It is knowing that God will!

I'm so glad your better.  My mom and dad both are diabetics.. I've always heard that if your sugar goes up, drink a cold cold glass of water and it will come back down.  Well it has helped my dad on numerous of occasions,  but not my mom.  Just an ideal for you to try.....
