I eat the veggie and cheese combos when I order fast food if possible. Subway and Jimmy John's both have a great veggie sandwich. I am not a vegetarian, but these go down without much problem and seem to do better for me then their various meats. The Sammies from Quizno's are good.
If you can find the time, it is a good idea to pack a lunch, or just buy a frozen dinner. It will stay frozen until you need it if you don't have a refrigator available. I stick two in an insulated lunch bag and some pudding cups and I am good for about 17 hours. If you don't want to spend the money for the prepared frozen dinners, I sometimes just freeze my own and them microwave at work. Nearly every place has a microwave these days.
Maybe some other people have some hits that will help. I have found that we need to take fook in the form of crackers and peanut butter or those little cracker and cheese things with us everywhere so we won't get too hungary or if there is nothing to eat. I definitely take stuff when I travel, so I will have something.
