I want a new heating and cooling unit. My air conditioner has been out for two years. My heater still works good?or so I thought. My light bill has been $68-$78 a month for the past 6 months. Turned my heat on and this months bill is $214. Something is wrong with it (probably old age) and it sends my meter flying. Just got my bill Saturday. I've cut the heat off and bought a space heater and my meter is creeping now. I'm staying nice and warm and it's not costing me an arm and a leg. But I may have to get out on the street corner and wave a tin cup under passerbyer nose to pay this months bill. I'm not worried about it, thats part of life. Everytime you think you've got bills covered something else pops up. I don't worry, I let the people I owe the money to worry. So far it's worked out and I look for it to continue. God has never let me miss a meal yet.

Don't feel alone, Miss Mary!  My utility bill was $439 this month.  That's what I want this month...money to pay the utility bill.  It will come from somewhere though.   

God never lets me miss a meal yet either.  Luckily I like popcorn. 

Good luck with your tin can contributions.  If I thought it would work, I would try that myself.  Maybe I should stand outside the Utility Dept. with a sign that say "Will Work For Contributions to My Rising Utility Bills."  The company should give me a break to get me to go home.  LOL
