Well.......
It's been a LONG day to say the least. We got up first thing this morning and I cooked breakfast. We got dressed and Kyle went to look at some painting someone just HAS to have done THIS WEEK! I dont' know how he's going to do it, but he's gonna kill himself trying..It's all inside work at least and WE DO NEED THE MONEY! God does provide, doesn't he? I just know my husband is pushing himself trying to do all he can to keep us afloat. It's been hard.
I came home and make the dipped ritz and peanut butter crackers (two entire boxes of ritz) I make two batches of fudge with the help of Jill (one with fresh picked pecans from our pastor's house) and one plain) I made chocolate/peanut butter peanut clusters, butterscotch haystacks and chocolate chip cookies. Kyle's parents came by and asked us to go to Christmas on the River with them so we all piled up at 4:30 and went with them to the river to watch the boats go by. It was beautiful. They bought a bucket of chicken and we ate at the park on the river. Kyle now has a homemade pizza in the oven and Daddy is here visiting and going to eat with Kyle. Oh and in between we did have an hour or so to go to Sam's and WM to pick up a few needed items for the baking. I've lost a coat I bought Jill somewhere and I was trying to find a replacement at Sam's, but they didn't have anymore. I don't know where in the world I could of lost it. I just know I brought it home with me from the last trip to Sam's. I got Holly one just like it in a different color. Now I don't know what to do.
All in all, I've had a VERY PRODUCTIVE DAY!!!
I'm tired and pooped and fixin' to go watch Dark Knight (Batman) with the family.

John...I am not Loretta, but my ritz crackers are as follows: take two cracker, spread peanut butter between them and dip them in chocolate bark (I use white and chocolate bark); place them on wax paper until they dry and give them all away.
I make Mary Ball Fudge...an old recipe.
I am finishing up my candy tonight and tomorrow after church. I will be giving it all out next week. I love giving candy away.

Awwwww, John, you are too kind. I do the ritz crackers like Carmen. Put PB between two crackers and I dip mine white chocolate bark. I also sprinkle mine with Christmas sprinkles. They're so pretty too. Kyle loves them. I haven't even tasted ONE SINGLE THING that I've made today. Kyle was eating some during the movie. He said it was all good. Even tried to get me to try some, but I haven't been in an eating mood in several weeks. I've lost 5 pounds. I hope I can keep it off. Kyle is feeling better but is still kinda weak. Still taking his meds. I got us some new Centrum Performance vitamins and that's seemed to help with my energy level. They are expensive but do come in generic form for 1/2 the price.
About that coat.....I doubt I find it. I had it all together.....everything and it's the only thing missing. I've checked the trunk of the car and everything. I can't find my receipt, so I can't even check to see if I purchased it, but I AM SURE I DID! I got both girls the same jacket in different colors.
Oh and the fudge I make is the one on the jar of marshmallow creme. It's Kyle's favorite. Have you made butterscotch haystacks before? All you do on those is melt butterscotch morsels, (I add a couple of teaspoons of peanut butter in mine also) and chowmein noodles and party peanuts...mix and drop by spoonfuls on wax paper. Kyle loves those too. I make the same thing year after year after year. Last year I tried to make divinity. It's my Daddy's favorite, but it didn't turn out too well, but was okay for a first try. He's asking me to try again this year. I am not sure.....but I might try, just for Daddy. My Mama always made the BEST divinity., so I feel like I need to try to master it for my Daddy. Every New Years since she's died, I make the same meal she always made.....meatloaf, collard greens marinated coleslaw, mashed taters, corn and cornbread.
We love you too, John!

Loretta...the key to good divinity is the weather. You have to make it on a cool, dry day. It will fall otherwise, or at least mine does. I have not made any this year because the days I could make it, it was raining. I use to love the haystacks. I have never made them, but my momma use to and they are sooooooo good.
