Topic: Computer Crashed....
I've missed posting and reading post so much!
Just got my computer back up and running after upgrades and fine tuning it seems the old pc is gonna be better then ever now.
New Years Resolutions?! Yes, and let's see where do I start?? I'll start with the ones I allready broke
Quitting
- did'nt even try really, but want to sooo bad.
No more coffee - again did'nt even try, but need to.
Sugar - goes with coffee
Exercise - to be more vigilant, but with work and school can find no time. The truth is I've only worked out a handfull of times since Thanksgiving
Those were really the only ones I had....and I broke them all
I've been feeling down and out from the lack of exercise I'm sure. The scale has not moved an inch a awhile, but am happy with my loss thus far.
As far as other posts I've been catching up on. I've read that a few of you found out you can tolerate sugar....Beware! I've always been able to tolerate it and have several teaspoons in my coffee even though I know it's packed with carbs and the worse possible choice I can make. I wish I would have never figured out I can tolerate it. It is about the only raw sugar I eat though. Everything I bake is made with Splenda. I did have Sees chocolate truffles for x-mas though
...but just 2!
I also read that a few people are able to eat so much more now, well don't feel alone....I am able to eat alot now too and I hate that I don't get the pressure I used to that tells me to quit eating. I am actually thinking of calling my Surgeon to ask about the possibilty of a revision in the near future. It sounds sad but I am so afraid of gaining anything back. It is scary that I can eat almost twice what I could before though.
So guys, it seems we are all at about the same place in our journey's which is comforting as always. Hang in there to everyone who is struggling at this point...and know your not alone!

I promised myself I would start exercising . Even though I have lost 129 pounds and am close to goal I haven't exercised so I am still out of shape. So far I have been doing water aerobics called aquabox, it's like kickboxing in the pool and a class called wave run where you basically just run back and forth up and down the pool. I also am taking a jazzercise class that's a lot of fun. I am at the Rec center almost 3 hours a day 5 days a week, I am determined to get fit and toned, I want to go down 1 more pants size. I figure if I take classes I enjoy it will be easier to stick with it. It's only been 5 days so far but that's the most I've exercised in the last 6 years! I will probably try the weight room here soon to try to build some muscle, maybe speed up my metabolism, it's sssooo slow, if I eat a few extra calories it shows up on the scale. Hopefully my family will get used to me being gone so much, it's a lot easier to keep with it when I have support instead of complaining and them saying mom, you're leaving again, you went yesterday, do you have to go again, what about us what are we going to do we're bored, aren't you going to be home for dinner? I guess they will get used to it sooner or later.

I have been so busy lately that I haven't had as much chance to check the boards, and when I do, my little granddaughter crawls up and wants to sit on my lap and tap keys so it is hard to ever write on here.
I have tried cookies too Nona. I thought I would never stick one in my mouth again but I have weak moments now. I always have to do things to help myself. I drink 2 protein drinks a day. Breakfast and lunch and if I do want a cookie really bad, I say, not unless you have both proteins done! Then I only want a tiny bite instead of taking the whole cookie. I also take two "doses" of flax. It is high fiber and filling.
I also got this free sample of protein chips once with my protein and then I ordered a sample pack of all the protein chips. They are super crunchy and have some really yummy flavors. When I want something sweet, I make sugar free chocolate pudding. (I have always loved chocolate) I order the chips from Kaysnaturals.
Lorraine, you always seem so friendly, happy and have such a wonderful attitude. I am happy that you have excitment and a new beau. It is people that make life so good.
My oldest daughter will have her baby in February and she is so excited and happy about it.
Both my junker car and my husband's truck have just broken down.
I am worried about my husband because he is getting so lazy. He has gained a lot of weight and he never exercises. He gets out of breath a lot, enough that it scares me. He seems to be crabby all the time now too. The girls always talk behind his back when there is something to do saying things like, "We have to lift this ourselves when dad isn't here. He might have a heart attack if he helps us." But when I talk to him about it, he just ignores me and gets crabby. I always have exercised, even before the surgery, but I still am fat, and I feel like he thinks I am just preaching since I try to eat healthy and have had the surgery.
If anyone thinks of it, please pray for him.
Take care everyone and God bless.

Hi there Nona, I am glad you are OK. I am glad to hear from you. My joints ache me also from this weather. It is raining here non-stop in New York.I still can't eat much at meals. Yesterday I had some carmel corn and
It just reminds me that some things I can't have. I can eat hard candy and chewy stuff, but I can't have chocolate and ice cream either which is good. You can get yourself under control. Do not let it get you down. We are all human.
Have a blessed day and take care ...Lorraine
TO YOU GIRL.
245 lbs on day of surgery 12/15/03
AT PRESENT 132 LBS -113 lbs
The key to all of this will be for me to maintain.
I sure hope I can do it.

Hi Lorraine,
Glad you had a nice new year. We don't celebrate, but I have not been good. I have found, to my dismay, that I can eat a small amount of sugar. So, guess what? I've been stuffing my face with it. Ice cream, candy, cookies, as well as regular meals. And I eat so much more at a sitting it scares me. I don't realize it until after I've finished how much I've eaten. For example, yesterday, I had an entire chicken salad sandwitch, a hard pretzle and two cookies. Not good choices, any of it. I went back to work today, after being home for a week on vacation and ending up with a cold, and just eating non stop. And the bad wet weather we're having makes exercise impossible for me. It makes my joints ache so bad, walking hurts. So I eat and don't exercise. My weight is up to 199. So I am paying for my actions. I just hope I can get myself under control before I do serious damage.

Sadly, I spent the New Year running from the bed to the bathroom. My DH, youngest daughter and myself all had a terrible intestinal bug
which definitely limited our New Year celebration. Not to worry, though, we will make up this weekend!
Happy New Year.

Hi there to all my buddies here,

I rang in the New Year with my new
Again Happy New Year to all and I hope you all enjoyed as much as I did.
What did you guys do?
Did you enjoy a few drinks?
How was the eating for those who went to parties?
I went to a big Yacht Club party.
I enjoyed lots of drinks
The food was all over, but I enjoyed some little snacks before the buffet, like shrimps and a few cheeses. I had cofffee later and some cheesecake. I was in control. I was so proud of myself.

Topic: RE: Why are hernias becomming...
I have also been experiencing severe side pains but on the left side. I was hospitalized last week. They did a CT scan, an x ray and an Upper GI. Everyone said the tests were negative except for the one associate of my surgeons (my surgeon is on vacation)-he thought it showed an irritated bowel and possibly a flap of skin inside where the Y is shaped in our intestines. he suggested going back in but than the Upper GI did not confirm so now...I see my surgeon tomorrow. I am in severe pain, it is stabbing and sharp. It gets alot worse when I eat or get agitated or move around alot. When it hurts, it hurts so bad that I cannot lay or walk, I basically sit with my hand plastered into my side. Than I can have periods of no pain. I do have increased bowel sounds so I thought it was a blockage but nothing confirms that...My surgery was 12/1/03.

Mine are lacking now too....and sagging some, but frankly, they sagged about the same pre-surgery too. I honestly don't know what size I wear because for years I have worn a sports bra that fits all cup sizes....now I just wear one that is smaller around but I don't know the cup size. I'd guess I'm at least a "b," possibly a "c". This bra really uplifts and kinda "binds" too..has NO padding at all and I like it. I'm not planning on any surgery. I don't miss the "heaviness" of them....I'm so much more comfortable now....I'm definately smaller than any time in my rememberance, but I don't mind.....all the other benefits of this surgery make it insignificant to me.
