Yes, sometimes I feel like I eat way too much. One thing that has helped me is to add snacks to my day. Then when it's meal time I'm not so hungry that I eat too much too fast without realizing it. For example here's yesterday's intake: (don't freak out at the times, I'm a early early early bird) 3:00 am Snack - protein drink 6:00 am Breakfast - lit and fit carb and sugar control yogurt 9:00 am Snack - beef jerky 11:30 am Lunch - Lean Cuisine Steak and portabello mushrooms (with broccoli) 3:30 pm Snack - beef jerky 6:00 pm Dinner - 1 1/2 cups mixed greens, 1/2 cup FF shredded cheese, 25 medium boiled shrimp, 2 tbs light balsamic vinagrette Although that looks like alot, it's about 800 calories, 107 grams protein and 30 grams of carbs. I use FITDAY.com to track my food whenever I feel like I'm out of control and I always find that I'm getting fewer calories than I think I am! and with all that I also had 2 20 oz mugs of coffee and 150 ozs of water..... I feel stuffed all the time but I'm never hungry hungry and I don't really get too many calories..... Karen 356/229/???

Hi Betty, I am with you on the eating too much. Some days i feel like a v *** cleaner.. lol some days i dont eat much but there are days i feel like i have eaten too much at every meal. my weight loss is slowing way down. i have gone through two or three weeks where i didnt lose anything and then i lose 3 or 4 pounds over nite. i am at 102 lb loss right now at 10 months I want to lose another 30 - 40 lb. When did you have your surgery? Some times it seems like the days i feel like i am over eating is the times i end up losing a few pounds. I dont think i always get all my protien now either. I work one full time and two part time jobs and i dont always have time to count my protien but i eat alot of cheese and try to look for things higher in protien and low in fat and carbs. I walk 3 miles a day and i feel great most of the time. I have gone from a size 22/24 to 12/14 so if i never lose another pound i feel so blessed to have had the surgery and lose what i have so far. You are not alone, i think it must be normal for this stage in our journey. I am always looking for good food ideas so if you hear of anything helpful please pass it on. Take Care, Carla

Hi people of nov. How is everybody doing? I'm doing great, my daughter got married on the 26th of Aug. and I had so much fun. Everyone commented on how good I looked. Butttttt I have been on a stall for a month or so. It is so aggrivating. also does it seem to you all that you can eat alot more now. I mean I can eat a half of a hot dog on a bun . and some cottage chesse. or 1 whole egg and a half a piece of toast it seems like so much to me. And today I had my dad to the clinic and I ate a whole turkey sandwich on a hard roll bun. Is this just too much? help me out here. I need to know if you all have seen the same thing lately. or is it justme? Thanks Betty

Hello! First of All Congrats on the Adoption! I bet she is so beautiful! I know you cannot wait to get her home. We are about to start the next journey thru the foster care. Our Son was adopted here in the states thru a private agency.(I think you and I emailed before) We are also hoping for a little girl. Keep me posted on this. So on to your question. I (sad to say ) have only done Viactiv. And often forget. I take them 1-2 times a day. My surgeon makes our outlet smaller than most and does not recommend any tablets larger than an eraser head. I have not swallowed a pill since 3mo po. It was a biotin and it blocked me so I am doing my darndest not to take pills. Im not much help. As for exercising. Get back on it. If anything it would be a great stress reliver and give you something to focus on until Ella gets home. Take your son on walks and have that good quality time with him before Ella comes and gets all the attention! (lol) I thinks its awsome that you feel good about where you are at! I was just telling my dh that I seem to be more self concious(sp) now then when I was over weight. I seem to have more body image issues now then before. More insecure now than before how messed up is that! So tell me your secret. Again please keep me posted on Ellas arrival I know how excited you are!!!! p.s. Go for a walk! Leann 235/138/125

I have lost 116 pounds since my Nov. 5, 2005 surgery..... wow what a difference....I want to lose 20 - 30 more pounds......but......as another lady said. If I never lose another pound I AM A SUCCESS !!!!!!!!!!!.......and I thank my Lord daily for the gift he has given me. I was 60 years old when I had my surgery and thought maybe I was "too old" to bettter myself.....NAH......I'm still worth it and....no telling how many years I added to my life expectancy.

Hi Carol. I, like Jennifer and Aimee, usually eat more protein than my doc suggests, around 85-95 gm a day. I have been lucky to have had a pretty steady loss, but not without a few bumps here and there. And it is slowing substantially since 6 months out. Sometimes only one lb a week (I only weigh weekly). Even had a 2 lb gain one week in July but didn't go nuts over it. I haven't had a plateau (no loss at all for 3-4 wks) so I cannot speak to the plateau buster diet. In April or so loss slowed so I upped my water to about 100 oz or more. That gave me a boost. Now I consistently drink at least 98-100 oz. I have logged EVERYTHING I have eaten since the day of surgery. I use my own excel spreadsheet but also I rely on fitday, product labels, and the USDA calculated nutritional information to determine what I am taking in. And I plan, plan, plan my menus a week in advance so I know every day that I've met my 85+ gm protein goal and if I need added protein from a snack (or NOT). I normally only have one snack (protein) in the evening. I'm diabetic and go hypoglycemic in the evening if I don't have something. But it's always protein. You said you just started walking every night. Exercise is important. I suggest you use something like fitday.com or just keep a log of what you are eating and drinking. You might see some trends that you can tweak that might help you get back on track. Are you keeping a log of your measurements? Often even if you hit a stall you are still losing inches if not lbs. Many a week I have felt 'skinny', weighed and hadn't lost a lb or only one when I thought for sure I had lost 3 lbs that week. I was still getting thinner. You have only 20 lbs to goal. Good for you! I was told the primary window for weight loss was 12-18 months. We're only approaching month 10. You're not at the end of your weight loss yet. Give yourself a break. Relax. Kathy

Topic: Vitamin question??? kind of long...
Hello everyone! I have a question about vitamins. What kind do you recommend? I currently take Optisource by Walgreens I take 4 a day and it has everything in it. The problem is I am getting sick of the taste. It costs 25$ a month. Can anyone recommend one you swallow with everything in it? And so it doesn't hurt your stomach. I am not concerned about the price only if it is good and tolerable. I didn't mind the optisource, my labs are awesome! But the taste is starting to turn me off. I have lost 123 pounds I went from a 24 to a 12 and I feel awesome. I have been slacking in the excercsie dept. which upsets me because I was doing so good. I even ran the BIX (on the hottest day of this year) it is a 7 mile run. I have not lost much in the last 2 months and I seem like I don't care. I feel happy about my body and don't care what others think. But I know I should be working out and it makes me mad at myself that I am finding other things to do. We are currently adopting from Korea and we are matched with a BEAUTIFUL baby girl who should be home before x-mas. We named her Ella Eun Ju and she is A DOLLY! The adoption is taking my mental and physical emotions. I am very busy with my son also. If I stay this weight i am fine with it. HOWEVER I do not want to gain any pounds I have NO wiggle room. I want to lose 20 more but I understand if I can't. Thank you for listening WOW I feel better about talking about this. I have been gone for awhile and I know I need this support. Angel

Carol; Fitday.com is a web site where you can track your activity and food intake. I used it a lot early in my journey so I could notice trends in my weight loss. That's how I learned that I lose more when I'm eating 85-100g of protein instead of the 70g my surgeon recommends. Plateau Buster is a diet that is said to help bust a plateau. You can read up on it on this profile. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/profile.php?N=C1090331797 I personally have never resorted to it and don't personally know of anyone that has, so I won't speak to it's effectiveness. Blessings, Jennifer
