Topic: RE: Six month anniverseries
Hi Mary! My six month anniversery will be on April 6...one day before you and I feel so good! I am currently down 101 lbs from 298 to 197 lbs! This time last year I never thought that I would lose so much in a short amount of time. I also said last summer that next summer will be the best one yet and I can't wait! Congrats on your weight lose and take care!

Congrats!
I too have almost lost sixty pounds. My surgery was 10/06/04 and I am at -57. I hope I lose 3 more pounds by 4/06/05. I guess from some of the posts that my weightloss has been much slower that some others but I do feel good and have been able to feel so much better about myself. I just feel like I have a sense of control that I never had before. I know I need to exercise more but I have been working so much I am having a hard time fitting everything into the course of my day. Try to keep a positive outlook and I wish you continued success.
LOL,
Robyn
Topic: RE: Five Months Post-Op, and Feeling Fatter then EVER! ...Am I CRAZY??
Hello Laura,
I don't know if you read some of the responses I received..
But if you didn't, let me tell you -that- YOU, (and I) are NOT alone!
It is absolutely Unanimous.. everyone feels the same!
We all still feel FAT (flabby, BIG, etc.)
At least at this stage of our weight loss journey!
So, if it is a "Phase?".. we ALL seem to be going through it!
Thank you for taking the time to answer my post Laura,
Peace to you from Miami Beach, Florida

Thanks Joe,
I appreciate your feedback, and thanks for making it unanimous!
Men and Women alike, we all are the same, at least at THIS stage of our weight loss process.
Just one thing different about you and I.. Joe.. I drink coffee all the time!
(I didn't know I wasn't supposed too?)
They gave me decaf in the hospital.. YUCH!
Soon as I got home, I started drinking coffee, and haven't stopped!
I don't use sugar, (I use that substitute that tastes like sugar..SUPRA?)
(And I use Lactaid milk, which is like flavored water.. !)
Hmmm.. Now you got me worried,
Is there a reason not to drink coffee?
Peace to you from Miami Beach, Joe..
Pete

I cannot believe that it will soon be six months since surgery for me! I have last almost sixty pounds fourty to go! How has everyone else done? I am surprised that I now crave protein and am disappointed when I cannot get to the gym, what a difference this surgery has made in my life. I am down to what I weighed when I got married 9-14-96. I am excited to get below this weight because I have not been there in so long! I am looking forward to summer this year for the first time in forever, I had told myself last summer that next year will be better, you will not be the biggest mom at the pool or park. I had hoped for a quicker weight loss but am grateful for my quick recovery and my slow continuous weight loss.

WOW, Janie,
You sound like my CLONE! *as do most of our brothers and sisters who have been kind enough to take the time to answer my post.
You all have made me feel so much better.
Now I realize that being alone was the worst part, and I am not going to do that anymore.
I check this page everyday, and If I get the guts, who knows I may even try to post again sometime.
God knows you all know as much (or more) about what I am going through!
Your blessings and support are a great comfort to me as well.
Peace and Love, And thanks again Janie.. May God Bless you and yours..

Thank You Karen for such taking the time to answer my post..
Yours is the most thoughtful (so far) and gave me a closer look at the things we (I) took for granted.
(*past diets, long journey, where I would be today -without- my surgery.)
Probably "staring at the ceiling in my darkended bedroom, praying for the guts to end it all!
But today, I am frustrated with newer, and more complicated issues., such as.. How to answer such loving letters of encouragement, (when) I haven't spoken more the fifty words to any strangers in more then ten years! Excuse me if my "People Skills are Lacking."
But I have tried to be honest, and the honesty I hear, and the gratitude in your letters.
Everyone of you have been supportative, and truly caring.
And boy, is that something I haven't had for YEARS from ANYONE!
Thank you from the top of my stitches, to the bottom of my drainage plug hole stitches.
God Bless you all. and I hope we stay closer as the time goes by.
PLEASE.. I don't know about you guys, but I lost all my DEAR FRIENDS, shortly after I tipped the 2oo lb mark on my scale about nine (9)years ago
keep in touch Karen, and the rest of our family of guardian angels
All my love and Blessings,]

Topic: RE: Plateau, anyone?
Well, I'm down about 75# and am so glad someone who posted reminded me that we continue to lose for about 18 months. I want to lose 100# too and when I think how close I am to that and how quickly it happened I have to not let myself get discouraged that it's not happening faster. I mean, what do I expect! I've not been exercising the way I should. It's never been a lifelong habit with me so to start and keep with it is difficult. Also, I, too, retain fluid and had forgotten about that until I couldn't put on a favorite ring the other day. You know, weight loss has been so illusive for so long that even losing 75# seems like a dream and I feel so much better. BUT, this is no time to get comfortable...snacking is a pitfall too. We must all stick together....WE CAN DO IT!

You are so not crazy! I will be 6 months post op on April 6 and have lost 101 lbs and I still don't really see a difference. My pre op weight was 298 and I am currently 198, a size 26 to a 14 and still see me as the big girl. People at work tell me all the time how good I look and I can tell I feel much better but I still see the big me. I hope this is just a phase I am going through.
