Hi! Janee! Congrats on your achievements. I too can now clean my house, cut the grass, etc. If I did not have the fibromalygia I would be a new person with lots of energy. But I don't let that stop me; isn't it great to live again, to feel human and when you look at yourself in the mirror you don't recognize that person at all and you feel great. 2 wks ago I tried on a size 16, yes size 16 sexy black lace dress and I could not believe how I looked, I was shocked it has been over 20 years since I looked that good. For once I felt beautiful and sexy, haven't felt that way in a long time. Its been an amazing journey. Starting wt 3/04= 310# Surgery date 10/14/04= 276# Today 6 mo. later!!!!= 191# You will have times when you will hit a plateau, then all of a sudden you'll start loosing again. That's what's happening to me. I feel like you do, even if I dont' loose another pound, I would not care. I love the way I feel and look now. Remember as you exercise, you gain muscle; but, you start loosing inches instead. I keep looking at myself in the mirror and I am still amazed as to where the boobs & booty went to include my shoe size as well. Everyone at work says I'm melting! We're so proud of you keep up the good work. ki

Thanks, Joe. I am going to start looking for better things online. The selection available where I live is practically non exsistant. The Drs here know nothing. I actually go over to the US for my protein because I cant get an acceptable one here. When I go to my appointments, I stock up on the protein shakes recommended by my dr. right at their pharmacy. They did have these little chocolate bars, 7g protein. I need more of those. I cant do bread well, and Im glad. Just the thought of the doughy-ness is enough to stay away. I did have 1/2 a slice of Atkins multigrain bread with some deli chicken and havarti. It took an hour to eat and just didnt sit right so I doubt Ill do that again. I bet there is some low carb version of the chips you like

Hey guys! Go****s been awhile since I've been to the boards... Surgery: Oct 1st, just had my sixth month checkup Weight then: 401 Now: 308 Loss: -93lbs! and 72+ inches Inch-wise, I am actually smaller than I was when I met my husband almost five years ago, although weight-wise I am still fifteen pounds heavier. I am staring down the Century Club and determined to make it before my 29th birthday April 22nd. One thing that I think has helped me the most during my journey is patience. I have my weeks when I think I should have lost more, or become frustrated by craving something and not being able to fulfill that craving. However, these times pass quickly and I just take it all in stride. I have fallen into a weightloss pattern of losing weight one week, pmsing and gaining back some weight the second week, losing the second week gain during the third week, and then finally losing again the fourth wee****il I unraveled this pattern, it was highly frustrating to see a gain and then stall for two weeks every month. Now I average about ten pounds a month, which is perfectly ok with me. The hardest part has been the body adjustments. Every week I seem to be aching somewhere, my back my legs, whathaveyou and for about a month I had headaches every day that would not go away. But all in all, no complaints and I'm just enjoying the ride... Rach

Surgery Date 10/21/04 Pre Op weight 377 Current weight 257 total weight loss 120 I hit my first real plateau although it only lasted for two weeks. I lost inches during this time and two pant sizes although the scales said that my weight was the same. Good to see that everyone is doing so well

Topic: RE: Five Months Post-Op, and Feeling Fatter then EVER! ...Am I CRAZY??
Well I am sorry that it took so long for me to answer, but I have been off line for a while. I have lost down to my goal weight in the past, and the one thing that I noticed then as with now is the feeling that we all get of still being fat. I sometimes worry that my weight loss will stop before I am ready for it to, and I also feel fat. I do see the results of my weight loss in my clothes because I am wearing smaller sizes, I have noticed that most people like you said are about the same in their weight loss, except some lose faster than others, and some lose slower, I am five months post op and I have lost 120 pounds, and a total of 22 inches. I weighed 377 before surgery on a 5 foot 5 inch frame. I have heard that the larger you are the faster the weight loss. I hit my first plateau but it only lasted two weeks. I am glad of that. I am glad to hear that you are doing very well after this first five months. Keep hanging in there. I guess I have been obese for so long that it seems strange for me to be getting smaller. After being on so many diets in the past that have failed, losing the weight then gaining it back it seems strange for my mind to conceive that I am actually losing weight. Keep up the good work

hi Deb, yuor doing fine and knowing yobu made a mistake is thre fourths of the battle. you may lose a battle here and there but the goal is to win the war. if its a sweet tooth please try some of the items on bariatric eating .coms web site. I have been trying a few things each month. many I just think taste terrible, but now and then I do stumble upon a jewel in the rough. last month I ordered their sugar free caramels. now pre surgery I was a caramel addict so know a good one from a bad one. believe me I figured i was going to be disappointed but WOW! these things are to die for and I can not tell the difference in them from the old pre surgery ones. now true you dont get many of them for what you pay but at one a day they work great for cutting that sweet tooth craving. I tried the brownies but did not like them , and I will be trying the peanut butter cookies this week. but hell if I like none of them Im reordering the caramels and stocking up onthem. so just hang in there and listen to the advice given above. we all slip, for me it has not been sugar but carbs, I still like a few chips with my mexican food, and I do bread just fine< sad isnt it>. hugz. Joe
