Hi my surg is the 7th I have been on my liquid diet now since the 28th it is not easy but you can do it!!! Laura

I also struggled with the pre-op diet. I started a week ago. I practically live on broth and pickles. I think that since I am not eating out like I was used to, I am craving salt. It is sooo hard the first few days. It gets easier after that..Hang in there~ My surgery is set for Sept 11th. Good luck everyone!!!!

It's wierd. Because, I'm not thinking about foods I'm going to miss. It's more about the going out to eat. I think about not being able to go to Applebee's - without bringing 95% of it home in a doggy bag. Not that there's anything wrong with doggy bags. I guess my membership in the Clean Plate Club for sooo many years has damaged me. I haven't been obsessing though. I'm excited to get started on the journey. Over the years I've lost the 20lbs here and 30lbs there. Even as much as 60lbs one time. I know how much better I'm going to feel and now I'll have the tool to maintain it this time. Anyway, I have until Friday to eat the things that I think I'm going to crave while losing. Tonight, I'm baking brownies with my daughters. I'm not going hog-wild. My doctor called that the "Last Supper Syndrome". I'm trying not to go that far. But, I'll be mentally ready Friday to begin the liquid diet. Check with me again next Monday to see if I'm still there. Ha! Ha! Congrats on your date, too! Let's keep in touch and compare notes along the way. Leslie

Surgery sept 12. struggling with pre op diet and tomorrow starts total liquids, thus far 2 shakes and a lean cuisine a day. i am getting more nervous as i get closer to the date but am excited

Jamie, I feel your pain... my insurance wouldn't cover the hospital that my doctor wants me to go to, so now I have to go to a different one. That pushed my date back 2 weeks. Thankfully it was only 2 weeks, but I was so ready to go next Friday, the 8th... now I have to wait until the 23rd.
