Heidi - how long has it been happening? if it's been the 5 days it may very well be a touch of a virus ... BUT!! don't let it go on too long... long story VERY short - June last year - virus symptoms - gassy & diarrhea feelings but no diarrhea at all - I just had pains and felt as tho I wanted to "poop" (sorry) ---- 1 week went to the ER - they ran tests and found nothing -- 2 weeks later still having "pains", not constant but I knew they were there...just annoying "gas" pains...now they seemed to be moving around to my back at times...ER AGAIN - more tests...nothing (I think they thought I was out of my mind) - my surgeon did an upper endoscopy - he found 2 ulcers - put me on ulcer meds - hmmmm that didn't work but I agreed to give it time...I spent the entire summer with these pains...sometimes worse than others but never so bad that I couldn't deal with them...Sept 9th (one year anniv of surgery) woke up at 3 a.m. thinking I was going to die!!! - the pains were horrible - if I breathed in too fast they hurt, I could barely move... called my surgeon - ER YET AGAIN - this time he wasn't letting me out until he found out what was wrong...a repeat of all the same tests plus some that they hadnt done revealed nothing once again...luckily he wasn't accepting this (the fact that I was in tears may have given him a hint ) - he told me that he needed to "go in" - he was going to do exploratory lap surgery to look around and see what he could find...emergency surgery that afternoon found that I had scar tissue on my intestines (it was hiding) and it was "tunneling" and "wrapping" around itself which was causing the pain...that's why it wasn't constant - it would only hurt if I ate or drank something! So he fixed it and I went home the next morning - I have been pain free ever since... it's worth getting checked out - and if they can't find anything when they run the tests for you - ask your surgeon about scar tissue...it's a very common occurance with this surgery! I hope you feel better very soon - keep me informed Love,Linda

I can shop in "normal" stores - I can cross my legs - I go to the gym - my confidence level has soared higher than ever before and people compliment me all the time 3. Topic: RE: Okay , Lets do a weigh in !!
HEY!!! am I too late to weigh in? I know it's not Sunday anymore but I'm here on Wednesday! () so - here's the way it seems to be going - I get on the scale at least 3 - 4 times each week (just to keep myself honest) - this morning it read 164 - the same thing it has read (with a variance of 2 - 3 lbs everytime) - somedays it says 161 and other days it says 166 - I'm not sure where those 5 lbs actually are but apparently they are on my body! Shel sweetie - you are pregnant - you look pregnant - as much as I know we worry about our weight now you need to feed the baby - as long as you know you're not abusing yourself by eating anything and everything in site and you have control over what you are taking in you are going to gain weight! it is the baby!!!! ... just stay healthy - that little baby needs a wonderful, healthy mom to take care of him/her... love you! Hi Everyone, 1. Lap RNY, which my doc office said is the "Gold Standard" among surgeries and the only one they approve of for medicaid patience. 2. Greaterest change in my life since surgery? No more huffing and puffing! That was SO humiliating! Well being morbidly obese is humiliating in general. Oh and yep, crossing my legs is a definate plus, makes me feel more "lady" like. lol 3. Hardest adjustment since surgery? We all have this in common, not seeing myself as looking thinner. Then the other day my daughter took a digital pic of me and said MOM! Wanna see how much skinnier you look since you don't believe me? I was happy with what I saw. 4. Family and friends adjusted just fine. All are really happy for me. Now there are some people at church who knew I had it and CONstantly ask me how much I've lost NOW...looking me up and down...ick. Makes me feel so uncomfortable. Well, I say, I've still lost around 110#...OH! They say, kind of tapering off then..well, you still look pretty good. Well...thanks 5. How much have I lost? WHY do you keep asking? LOL 110# and need to lose a bunch more but know it will happen in time. Habits are slowly changing. 6. Am I pleased with the results? YES!!!!!!! I would definately do it again. Kelly

Christine, I haven't been here in months, so do not feel bad. I met and exceeded my goal before my one year anniversary. I got down to 128 during August last year, wearing a size 4, and still felt that I looked bad. I am now at 138, and am stressing over the weight gain, although like you, I was shooting for 150 and a size 10. I wear 6 now, some 8's, and am not happy that my 4s do not fit. I am back online here now, because I find myself really depressed. Funny how I thought that everything in my life would be better if I was skinny... Not the case. Same issues, different issues. For me, there are other things besides food that has become a problem. One of those things is alcohol. I never drank before, as I hated the way it made me feel (sleepy with 1/2 glass wine). Now, I can drink a big glass of wine and feel great! Then, about an hour later, the feeling is gone (like I never had it), so I have another... This is really concerning me, and it sucks. Some nights, I have 4 glasses of wine... OMG! I know this is a problem and I have to change NOW... I also know that I am drinking calories and sugar that will make me gain... and I NEVER EVER want to be heavy again. It is amazing to feel "normal" again. I was like you, only heavy as an adult, so I remembered the real "me" buried in there, and now I feel like this has always been me....and forget how easy it is to gain. I too had lots of people tell me that I look sick, and to be honest, I dont think I look that great either. I think I look OLD. I liked the way my face and hair (when I had it!) looked at 175lbs versus now. Perhaps that is normal for this stage? Well, I am rambling. I need to update my profile, if for nothing else than to put my thoughts in writing as a way to "face up" and be accountable for my poor behavior right now. But I am scared to mess with it and lose it all...another day perhaps. For now, just know that you are not alone. Denise 253/150/138

1. What type surgery did you have, and why did you choose that kind? RNY - My doctor suggested that because I would go on "sugar binges" this keeps me in control. 2. What is the greatest change in your life since surgery? I can cross my legs, chase my granson around the house. 3. What was the hardest adjustment since surgery? Looking in the mirror and seeing a different person. 4. How has your family and friends adjusted to the change in you? Hubby is very happy with the change. No one in the family makes any comment one way or the other. Although my 14 yo gets upset when I try on her clothes and they fit... 5. How much weight have you lost? More or Less than you expected by this point. I am at a stall for the past 3 months. Weighing 225 which is 96 from pre op and 109 from my highest. I never thought I would see 225 again in my life.. 6. Are you pleased with your surgery results? Would you do it again? In a heartbeat. After I have my hernia surgery I will be even better. Sandy
