Patricia, i feel the same way when i shop, I feel like I don't belong in regular size clothes department, that strange feeling like I don't belong. I can wear some 12 now I don't remember ever wearing a 12 Sharon

Patti: Allow me to finish your thought. but...that feeling will pass because of your success you belong in the regular department. It is a valadation of your hard work and the renewed pride and self-assurance you have in yourself. Jesse

Jesse, I love reading your posts every week as they are always so positive. I know what you mean about shopping in the wrong part of the store. I, however, always feel funny shopping in the regular clothes department and figure someone is probably wondering what I am doing there! Being a size 10 now, I belong there but I still feel the fat. Crazy, I know but..... Patti

Hey Jesse I second that. Great job and well said. I am right there with you on the store, I can't get used to looking at large and extra large shirts, when almost all my life I was 3x, 4x, and 5x. Unbelievable. Have a great weekend. Luis

Hi Everyone: Well it's been 49 weeks since my surgery and my has the time has just flown by. It's 3 weeks to my one year anniversary and it seems like just yesterday that I was "in limbo" because my first surgeon had resigned from the hospital he worked at and I was implementing my Plan B. I'm still holding at 190 pounds (a 183 pound loss) and I'm feeling better than ever. Now that I've been weight training since January I am courious about my body fat %. I've been investigating various products that can determine body fat % on the market and will probably decide next week which product I will buy. Imagine, last year at this time body fat % was the farthest thing from my mind. I didn't even want to know. Now I want to know as an indication of how far I have come. Another funny thing happened to me this week. I went into the Men's store where my mother bought me 2 suits for Christmas. At that time I was a 50 Regular. I wanted to look around because now the suits are too big. As I was looking a salesman came to me and said "Sir, you're in the wrong section, your size is on the other side of the store." Imagine, being led to the smaller sizes just from someone taking a look at me. What a concept (LOL). I am now a 42 Regular so I guess next week I will be buying suits. Success comming from WLS can be measured in a variety of ways. Even the smallest things should be considered a success. I know that many people look for the big successes but it's the little daily trimumphs that mean the most. Count each day as a success and eventually each small success will build into the big success we all are seeking. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183

Hello my WLS anniversary friend (I'm also a 9/22 'er!). Keep the faith! It's so hard. I've experienced the same thing as you. Weight loss really slowed down for me after the 6 or 7 month marks. There was a period between where I lost NOTHING - it was just up and down the same 2 lbs. It was frustrating because I had really upped my excersize and NOTHING. Finally I did notice that I seemed slimmer, but the scale did not show it. A few weeks ago the weight started coming off again, although slowly. As others have suggested, you just have to keep going and keep doing your best. I know that in past diets, plateus killed me. As soon as I hit them, it was over... I went off program and it all came back. Now we have this great tool, so hopefully THAT won't happen, but the plateus still occur. Yeah, I've kicked up the excersize and focused on food, but sometimes that didn't help. I've tried to be very aware and not in denial about my eating (because in the past I really did not realize what amounts of food I consumed - I don't want to go there again) and honestly think it's just been a plateu! I'm not quite to goal, but keep plugging along. What cheers me up is to look at the weight loss planner for this sight and it shows my weight coming off pretty much like it did overall - with minor losses occuring for a few more months. If I plot my monthly weights, I do see a steady loss of a few pounds a month, but on a day to day basis, I didn't see it at all. Maybe it might help you to make a chart or look at a table of your weight loss to see your progress.... a small thing I know, but it seems to help me. Good luck to you. WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT TO GOAL!

Patricia, thank you and the others for your replies. Helps to know Im not alone and that someone else understands. As for eating too much, well I take in 3 ounces, 4 times a day. Chicken, grilled....salad, or chicken salad, egg salad or tuna. Thats my menu. I have a protien shake a day. So I dont really know if I am eating too much or not. I will look up the stillman diet and see what it has to say. Otherwise, I am going to go back on liquids for a while and see if that helps. thanks girl carol
