Topic: RE: GOALIES
Well I weigh 134 and my Dr.s goal was 135. So I am at his goal. But I want to get to 120 so I can say I have lost 100 lbs. I have heard that some people gain 10 to 20 back after 2 years, I sure don't want to gain that from where I am now!

Topic: RE: NEW HERE
Ohhh there are lots of things you should know and lots of things you should be concerned about!!!! Be very sure that this is what you want to do and that you are ready for a LIFE long journey. My surgery was last August 31st. And I would do it again in a heartbeat, but it has been one heck of a year. The 1st 6 months are the hardest (at least for me) Make sure you are going to a Dr. that knows what he or she is doing.I really liked my Dr. and trusted him. Click on my name and read my profile if you want. I hope you have great results and are as happy as I am. Email me anytime. Lisa in Alabama

Topic: 8/30 --- 6/30 11 months check in!
Hi Folks....
WOW 11 months today!
So how are you all doing?
Have you come close to your goal....?
Made your goal....?
Are you still having complications?
Do you take your vitimains?
What about Exersize ?
Get your H20 ?
What about Protien ?
Do you think your meal plan is close to what it was pre WLS? or are you still cautous of what you eat?
~~~~~~
For me.... yes stil having complication.. had another endo this past week,, ulcer is healing BUT UI have a new one developing.... and the MD had to dialate my thorat again. ( I have had a history of both ulcers and constrictuers prior to WLS so I DO NOT Feel this is enterierly due to WLS -- it just complicates my diet)
Yes to getting plenty of water... Not so good about taking vitiamns or getting enough protien....
As for daily food intake... I seem to be stuck .. meat protien makes me sick.... every few days I will try again but the pain and vomiting is not worth it. Even the protien drinks are intolerable.
I DO eat sunflower seeds! and peanut butter and other grain sources of protien.. and do OK with fish ( except tuna) Eggs are ok if soft boiled or in a custard. I have also been using a soy based pasta. I also added fresh fruits.
I had been goping to the gym but tore the rotater cuff in my shoulder so for now the gmy is out.. BOY do I miss swimming! The MD also think I am developing ASHMA! as when I try to walk outside I begin to wheeze, but I think it is all the heat we have been having so I have to wait till the cooler weather to enjoy my neigherbood walks again.
I am in a size 10 pants that feel baggy, but the 8's and 6 that I can fit into leave me with a belly roll over the top! So many times I still feel fat.
It is so much fun when someone who I have not seen much over the past year sees me and to watch their reaction.
My extened family ( other than hubby and kids) have not seen me, and the first time they see me will be over Labor day. NONE OF them know I had WLS either.... a few know I have been loosing weight so the family Labour Day party should be a mixed day. From the comments they have made about other that have had WLS they are not very accepting.... So I did not count on or ask for their support.... ( most of them are also over weight) One brother had WLS a fw years ago and had a horrible time and gained nmost of it back.
WELL............ TODAY is 11 months
202.5 to 140 Goal (MD) 125 (mine) 110 for a total of 62.5 loss thus far.
size 20 to a size 10
(but can also wear a size 6 smae maker! but feel fat in them)
Oh My Goodness.........
I was thinking of posting this same question......!
Thanks for posting this question!
YES I still feel FAT! But not just nakid... I can wear a size 6 pants but the skin from my upper abs hangs over it.! So I have this roll that I can not hide even under clothes so I am still wearing a size 10 pants. They are big and baggy and even then the roll shows.
I am still about 15 -- 20 pounds from gaol but I think I will be at 140 for a while..... the scale keeps dropping to 135 and then back up to 140.
TODAY is 11 months
202.5 to 140.... goal (MD) 125 mine 110 for a total of 62.5
size 20 to a size 10
(but can also wear a size 6 smae maker! but feel fat in them)
Topic: Minus 165 and holding. Help!
Up until the last 6 weeks, I have lost quite steadily 8-12 pounds a month. However in the last month I've lost only a pound or two. I don't feel like I've changed my routine at all. Has anyone else experienced this? Did you start to lose again? Am I finished losing? I still have 35 pounds to go! Help!
Thanks!
I'm sort of the same way.
I only realize that I'm 145 when I'm putting clothes on. When I'm sitting at a table and someone walks behind me I constantly find myself trying to scoot in closer so folks can get by. I still think regular lawn chairs aren't going to hold me and that I have to walk sideways in tight spaces.
So no, I don't think it's strange at all.
Congrats on your weight loss!
Topic: RE: /7 days early!
Congrats Judy!
I never knew that wine could have such an impact on weight. I have never thought of anything alcoholic (other than beer) having that kind of effect.
Up until my hip replacement last month, I spent 1-2 days a month getting very tipsy at the bar with "the girls" since mid January. I miss our nights out and just told my hubby tonight that I can't wait until I'm physically able to do it again.
I'm sure your surgeon is going to be so proud of you!
Congrats again!
