Topic: Holidays aren't just about food!
It's amazing that it has taken me my entire life to figure that out!  By now, I probably would have eaten a few pounds of Valentines candy, but I haven't had anything.  I have been totally reframing my point of view on holidays, and have found so many other ways to celebrate, and feel like a part of the holiday without having it revolve around food.  Isn't that cool??? 

P.S.--- I am totally gonna lose the 1.4 pounds that I need to to hit my 100 pound mark by the end of the week... Watch me!

I've never had soy crisps. Do they have some protein in them? Where do you buy them? They sound good!

I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you, but have you tried benefiber or some other fiber supplement?  I have heard a lot of people use them.

Am I the only one having this problem?

One ongoing issue I've had since having this surgery is chronic constipation.

I have followed by dietitian's advice the best that I can, but I can not get enough roughage in to keep things flowing smoothly consistently. My dietitian doesn't recommend supplementing post WLS diet with protein powder. She wants me to try and eat as "naturally" as possible and get my protein through eating regular food.

When I do that, it is almost impossible for me to get the recommended amount of protein in per day and eat all the veggies she wants me too. I was so sick from constipation last week, I had to miss my college class last Wednesday. I almost went to the emergency room, I felt so sick. I thought I might have ruptured something. Fortunately, everything eventually worked its way out and I immediately dropped 5 lbs. in 2 days!

I've decided to start using soy protein isolate at least once a day so I can have more room for vegetables. I have not used any protein powder yet. Can anyone recommend some brand that I can just add to my oatmeal, milk, coffee, etc?

How do you avoid getting constipated?

I do drink plenty of water, probably between 60 to 80 oz. per day.

I've only lost three pounds in the last month and need a jump start too.  I've been having protein shakes for breakfast and another one for a snack mid afternoon.

Wow!!!!  You look so great!!!!!  Keep up the great work!  Woo hoo!!  I still see myself as that really fat girl, I'm slowly starting to realize "yeah, I guess I really did lose 100 pounds".  You're always hardest on yourself I guess.  Anyway, congratulations on the weight loss!

I love this forum.  thanks you guys for being so supportive.  It's nice to have somewhere to go and talk to people who understand where you are coming from.  I have learned so much from everybody.  I wish I could come on here everyday.

i was feeling discouraged because of my stall and i look in the mirror and just still see someone reall fat, but after seeing these... i am not nearly where i was hoping to be at 6 months out but....
