I am on the 7 day ALL PROTEIN DIET
I don't think your surgery failed.. I mean every Doctor gives different advise regarding surgery after care.. I was told 3oz of protein per meal.. I can not eat over a cup of coarse food.. slider foods like salad, soup, chili I can eat a cup.. I was told not to eat over 5oz's of food period.. I read a article were some gastric patients can even eat up to 7 to 8 oz's after a year.. but the exit port from the stomach in these patients did not stretch so the stomach has a mind of its own regardless on how much we try not to eat.. 2 ozs won't even fill me up when i go per my doctors instructions of one bite every 5 to 10 mins.... you have to also look at the fact when you travel you tend to retain water.. you body knows when your daily regimen is off track.. just keep up the protein.. and water and 800 to 1000 calories.. and run away from the DISNEY... funnel cakes, LOL.. but you can get a smoked turkey drumsticks.. LOL.. I can eat on those for over a week...LOL.. You are doing we'll.. it's just getting hard because you are sooo close!! Keep up the good work!!
You haven't failed!
I don't even look at my weight when I have my period because it fluctuates so much in a week. You're doing fine!
Get back on track with the protein. If you are starving at the end of the day eat a PROTEIN snack. There are nights when I eat some chicken,a piece of cheese or have a glass of milk at bedtime because I'm hungry.
I'm going to be on an extended vacation for almost a month in May/June. I'm a little worried about my eating plan as I'm going to be tempted by all sorts of fabulous foods. I do plan on "tasting" a lot of delicious things.

Girl, I think we are all in the same boat! I really dont have dumping but If I eat too much sugar too fast I dont feel well. But, I can eat half a candy bar and be straight.
Im going to try to do all protien too. Ive gotten down to 206 but went back up to 208. Doesn't help that I am drinking alot either though. Let me know how that works out. Have you tried the 5 day pouch test yet??

I was thinking of trying it because im dying to get under 200 pounds. But, Im going to do the same thing as you and go ahead and do 7 days of straight protien and veggies. Maybe some coffee :)

OK, I am on day two of the 5 day pouch test. I made it all day yesterday on nothing but liquids and protein shakes. I am looking forward to tomorrow when I can add scrambled egg back into my diet. I am already psyching myself up for tomorrow! lol
So yesterday being on all liquids I lost 3 lbs. So I am happy about that! I wasn't really hungry all day. When I felt hungry I drank a protein shake. I finally found one that I like, here is the link: http://www.bariatricchoice.com/wonderslim-bariatric-weight-loss-diet-pudding-shakes.html
It's not the cheapest protein but at least I can tolerate the taste of it!
I worked out on Tuesday night and put in 4 miles. I am headed back to the gym tonight. and hope to put in just as much. I am excited about getting back on track. I hope that the pouch test works and that my pouch tightens back up after doing this. Because I want that full feeling again. I am worried I stretched that opening out and now am a bottomless pit.
I'll check back in and let you all know how it is going!

2 oz???? No wonder you are hungry! I eat 1/2 to 1 cup regularly. I think it is too much sometimes, but other times I eat straight protein (meatballs) and I eat so much less so I am pretty sure my stomach is still that little bitty thing it should be.
I struggle daily with the carbs and feel so proud of myself when I avoid them. I'm not always successful, but I keep trying to make good choices every day.
I think I am eating too many calories a day and I have a little snacking habit at night. I'll keep trying to improve!
I find myself being more open to physical activity and I'm starting to look forward to my daily exercise. Today I went ice skating! I haven't been on ice skates for over 30 years!

im on the "somethings wrong with me" train. i feel like i failed this surgery. i had my 7 month check up and he was dissapointed in how little i have lost. i started out at 268 going into surgery. i am at 197 and have 67 more pounds to go... apparently i suck. im already looking into revisions because i feel like i once again failed at another weight loss attempt
Don't be so hard on yourself. You have lost 70 lbs! That is amazing. Like me you were considered a "Light Weight" and that means our weight loss is slower than the others. It is hard not to compare to everyone but I have stopped doing that because it just makes me depressed and feel like I have failed. I try to look at the girls that started out around my weight. And then I compare myself and progress to them. We are all neck and neck so I know I am doing OK.
Try this 5 day pouch test. I am on day 3 now. I lost the 6 lbs I had regained at Disney and lost an extra pound so far. :) I am not feeling hungry and I am happy because I know that the pouch is still working.
You have to ask yourself if you could have lost 70 lbs before this surgery in the short amount of time you have lost it in? I know I couldn't have! I would have lost about 20 then hit my first plateau and fallen off the wagon and gone back to eating non stop.
I know it's hard. But try the pouch test. and I bet you will be reassured you're surgery is working for you.
XOXO Val

I know how you feel JDR. I am feeling like I need to go ona liquid diet to reach my goal wieght because I am so afraid of regain that I have this overwhelming fear of not reaching my goal and getting fat again. I ahd this durgery so I could eat like a thin, normal person and I'm bummed that I have to be on a diet to get there. And, yes, I do recognize how ridiculous I sound! *smacks the side of head*
I am VERY greatful for my RNY! I would never have had the wireght lose I've had up til now without it!
