well pam. you know how it goes. thank god for narcotics. otherwise, i'm doing well. can't stand up straight yet, but getting there. how bad will it be when my 4 vaginal drain tubes come out.

As I have also been struggling with the last 15 lbs. I went and had a resting and active metabolic test done last week. You breath into a tube for 15 minutes that is hooked to a computer and then it tells you how many calories you burn at rest which is the lowest number of calories you should comsume to keep your body from going into starvation mode. Also, per your activity level, it tells you the max number you can eat without gaining weight. Also tells what percent of your food is going to burn fat or carbs. Mine checked in at 1213 low and 1577 high. I was not eating enough to keep burning fat. But I also found out, I will gain weight at 1600. Not much wiggle room in there. I do exercise, so I can add that to the 1500 on days I work out. Anyway, for those struggling, this is a real help. If anyone is interested, I got mine done at the local Physical Therapy Center, so check out your local centers and see if they offer it. So now I know exactly where I have to be to lose the rest. They are refering to a Large, sugar free, decaf, latte (steamed milk) from Starbucks or other coffee house. Most usually order it NF (nonfat) also.

I noticed on the accountability thread that several people have a drink called ?venti sf decaf latte? (don't know if I'm calling it right?) Is this a protein drink or what? Is it like a coffee latte? And where do you get it, sounds kind of good, especially if it has alot of protein in it... Thanks, Alesia

Hi Pam and All other Players: Its Tuesday, a.m., and time to own up for yesterday...It was actually a good day, I'm proud of myself - always do better during the week...Pam, you're food looks pretty good to me, the only pattern I see is those biscotti, I read the label on it at SAMS and they don't even seem all that bad either, just empty carbs and sugar, but everyone needs a splurge ( mine is the free sugar cookies @ our local grocery store bakery, they call me everytime) Now the food: B - fruit protein shake S- 1 oz lf cheddar & 10 sm butter pretzels L- 2 to 3 oz smoked sausage w/mustard & 1/2 c green beans S- 2 cherry essence prunes D- 3 oz shake n bake pork chop, peas n carrots, & a bite of stroganoff noodles S- sliced banana sprinkled with splenda and 2 tbsp pb to spread on it the usual liquids and vitamins ( I really am happy with how I keep up with these, never was good about drinking or taking meds pre-surgery) Alesia

Hi Pam. Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that you weren't feeling better and had a rough day at work I read over your list of foods and it's not so bad! I think I ate more than you did.. I had a great start to the day and when I got home from work... well here it goes: Large cup of coffee with hazelnut flavored creamer. B- Cappucino AchievONE drink - 20 g protein L - Green salad with tomato and onions and Stallone chocolate pudding hi protein - 20 grams protein Weigh****chers Peanut Butter Pie - I actually ate both servings, one when I got home and I added peanut butter to it! The other one I ate with my dinner. Two cookies - vanilla sandwich pastry like cookies...too much fat content! I got rid of the rest of the cookies and brought them to work to feed the doctors! At least 10 crackers and 2 rice cakes with some lo fat salsa spread. D - 90% lean beef patty with cabbage leaves about 21 grams of protein. S - Two boxes of raisins (medium size) I didn't have any of my vitamins for the day. I upped my exercise by another 10 minutes on the Gazelle at night. I did my morning exercise - 5 minutes on the elliptical and 20 on the Gazelle rider before work. Did another 10 + 5 on the Gazelle after work. I didn't feel good after dinner and why in the world did I eat the raisins??? Today I'm feeling better and on track and will stay there! I think I might be doing the emotional eating with my ps consult on Thursday. I will keep this in check!! I think the accountability here is a good thing! Boy, I haven't confessed like this before. My usual daytime stuff...... 4 oz shrimp with about a quarter of a cantalope for supper. 3 pieces SF candy and a SF ice cream bar (big bunch of wasted calories there) never did get my last 16 oz of fluids in

((((((((((pam)))))))))))))) sorry you had such a poopy day. and i don't mean your eating, i mean you feeling so yucky. i don't like to see you sad. now, don't feel so awful about those darn m&ms, your day doesn't look so bad to me! would you feel better if i told you i ate 1/2 molasses cookie from starbucks? 1/2 of one of those HUGE cookies? and it was damn good! mmmm mmmm mmmm aside from that, my day was still pretty bad. -venti iced ff sf vanilla latte -handful of lays salt and pepper chips (my mom had them and i HAD to try them) -slice of munster cheese -about 6 spoons of mac and cheese i swear, my eating gets worse by the day.... hugs~mary jo
