WOW moment...
Hi everyone! Well, I just had to share this, cause it really tickled me.
I was at a friend's house in her driveway getting something out of my car when her son's bus pulled up and let him off. He was really upset about something, but I just stayed out of it. He's 14 and really doesn't want me sticking my nose in his troubles, you know?
Anyway, his mom told me later that he was mad because his friend, thinking I was his mom, told him, "Wow, your mom's hot!" to which he responded, "She is NOT my mom and she is NOT hot! She's my mom's friend, and you're disgusting!"
He's a good kid, so I didn't let him know what a boost to my ego this was. Kids can be the harshest critics, you know? So I took his friend's comment as a compliment of the highest order.
I really do feel wonderful. I have lost 93 pounds so far, and can wear a size 10 jeans. Plus, I just cut my hair short and I just feel like a whole new person.
Life is good, huh?
Life is soooo good... Keep up the great work and let us know many more of those moments. I'm a teacher and recently had one of my 3rd graders say to me that I'm getting skinny. Now, I'm in a size 22 down from a 30-32, so "skinny" is obviously a relative term, but I did still have to smile.
93 lbs. is great!!! Way to go.
Blessings,
Kerri
Congratulations,
I know you must feel wonderful...You sound like me excited...It was really kind of strange when I read your WOW because we have the same doctor and had surgery within 3 days of each other, mine was on the 7th...I've probably passed you in the hall at the hospital, in the office @ doctor Way's, or even have spoken to you at a support group meeting and not even realized it...
This has been such an incredible journey...I'm a little behind you at 79 lbs lost since surgery and kissing the ground thankful for every pound that is gone...
Keep up the good work you've almost reached the brass ring...
Alesia
Thanks, guys!!! It's so good to be able to come on here and know that I will find people *****ally truly understand where I'm at. Sometimes, I feel a little isolated because others around me can't really know what this feels like. This is one of those things you have to experience to really understand, like having a baby or something.
Anyway, thanks bunches!!!
